The fate of One Funi VA for Dragonball GT?

    Like This Thread!
    Hey all,

I'm a bit concerned about the GT voices. Say what you will about the show, but I like continuity as far as voices go. I absolutley hate it when they bring in a replacement either for a few episodes, or an entire season, because it just dosn't sound like the original established character .

It seems that a few DBZ VA's may not be returning for their roles in GT, if only because the characters aged 10 years....although nothing is definete yet. Well, I wrote to Kara Edwards, one of the ones in question and voice of Videl/Goten, and here was her response....hope she dosn't mind the email posted, heh...

    >Hey- thanks for the vote of confidence! I truly would love to voice Pan- always thought I would. Unfortunately- my new job keeps me in North Carolina- and I can only record on the weekends when I fly to Dallas. I was more than willing to fly back- but Funi didn't want someone from out of town. Hopefully I can at least still voice Videl , I guess we'll see...>

Maby we can start a call in/write in campaign to let Funi know we want the established VA's back for their original characters? ...

Well.. considering how little Videl is in the series, there isn't very much to worry about.

True, but Gohan does have a pretty decent sized role back in the end of the series, at least up untill the sections I've seen. Explaining away a different voice for him might be a bit more of a strech, heh.

Guess I got spoiled in shows where every regular voice actor is in every episode, compared to ones like TMNT, where each character had at least 3 different voice actors portraying them over the course of ten years .

Was there some reason why Gohan's VA wouldn't be returning? He seems to be one of Funimations main voice talents, and will be appearing in Fruits Basekt as well..

    He is? Hhmm...

Last post I read about GT Casting, he didn't seem too sure that he was a shoe in for returning to the role again, so I figured it was all up in the air for the 'aged' characters in the series...

I would hope Gohans VA would be the same. Because like all of you I don't like it when the voice actor for a certain character changes(eg. Kiyone). I would have thought though that FUNI would keep the original VA's as seeing how Bulma is the same in DB and DBZ. And I think it is safe to say she aged.
