Beast Wars is my favorite Transformers series. I grew up with the original and still like it, but I honestly found Beast Wars to be better in every possible way.

I think that overall, Beast Wars is the best series, especiallly towards the end. However, I liked the concept and dark/psychological nature of Beast Machines more, but I don't think it was executed as well as it could have been. The original series is certainly enjoyable, but VERY campy/cheesy at times, however, the movie is quite good.

    Here's my list of rankings:

    1. Beast Wars
    2. Beast Machines
    3. Transformers - The Movie
    4. Transformers G1
    5. Transformers: Robots In Disguise

    1. G1
    2. Beast Wars
    3. Beast Machines
    4. Transformers:RID

Beast machines and RID were horrible.

G1 had incredible writing and would fit in America today, the people at Hasbro knew how to make a show.

Beast Wars were good but the characters just didn't mesh as well as G1. Dinobot and Rat Trap were basically the only ones who worked well together.

    Re: Favorite Transformers Series

What got me into Transformers was when Transformers: Generation 2 and Beast Wars came out in the mid 1990's. I miss out on TF: Gen 1 when it came out the first time around.

Anyway, my favorite Transformers Series are:

    1. Original Transformers (Seasons 1 & 2)
    2. Transformers: The Movie (Broken into 5 episodes)
    3. Transformers: 2010 (Seasons 3 & U.S. Headmasters - 3 Episodes)
    4. Beast Wars: Transformers
    5. Transformers: Robots In Disguise
    6. Beast Machines: Transformers

    As of now...

Generation ONE. For me, it was the best. (as for G2...eh, that's G1 with CG bumpers that cut off the best parts....)

Beast Wars was okay, but I wasn't wild about the CGI.

Beast Machines...horrible. RiD looks like a cartoon made for robot kids on Cybertron, and I watched it as such.

Beast Wars. Easily one of the best written action 'toons of the 90's. Of course the first 13 episodes of season 1 were a bit weak compared to the rest of the series. On the plus side Toonami could pick it up for a bucket of cheap.

Personally I don't think Beast Machines was as bad as many TF fans claim, just that it had a lot of wasted potential. I mean I loved the set up. And I loved the way the developed Megatron, Silverbolt, and Cheetor. But the rest of were written virtually out of character from when they were in Beast Wars. And I could have done without Cybertorn being turned into a technorganic treehugging hippie utopia, that really, of all the Beast Wars cast, only Tigertron would have approved of. But that's what happens when you don't bring back the production crew from the previous series to work on the sequel and you tell the new ones not to do any research. On the other hand, the animation was excellent.

As a whole, I'd rate the Transformers series to date --

    Beast Wars
    Movie
    Post Movie
    Pre-Movie (G1)
    Beast Machines
    RiD

Beast Wars is definatly my favorite Transformers series so far. I was never a really big Transformer fan since I was 5 or 6 when the original series ended, so Beast Wars got me into renting older Gen 1 tapes and watching the few episodes I had on tape. You know a series is good if it gets you looking into the shows/movies that preceded it.

    My favs:

    1. Beast Wars
    2. Beast Machines
    3. The Movie
    4. Victory
    5. Transformers (Generation 1)
    6. Headmasters
    7. Beast Wars II
    8. Robots in Disguise

Beast Wars was good, yeah. I can't remember the original series, never got a chance to watch it too much, but Beast Wars was excellent, especially towards the end.

I must say that even though I grew up a child of the 80s and enjoyed Generation 1 IMMENSELY when I was a kid, I go back to it, and with the exception of a few episodes, it doesn't seem to have the same "umpf" to it. However, it was still damn cool for its time and Transformers:The Movie remains my favorite animated movie ever.

But I also have to say that Beast Wars was an incredible show. And while it kind of trailed off at the end for me, the second season remains a highlight of animated television. Hence, for me, my list goes-

    1. Beast Wars: Transformers
    2. Transformers
    3. Transformers: Generation 2 (I know it was the same as the original, but still, it was kind of a different show)
    4. Beast Machines

I don't consider Robots in Disguise to even be a transformers show, because for me, continuity is important. It was completely Japanese, first of all, was outside of the American continuity (which for me, is the only, true continuity), and was just absolute garbage. It reaked of Fox Kids, and had more of a flavor of Digimon than Transformers. Now I know you'll say that Armada is outside the coninuity as well, and yes, this is true, but it is being made jointly with American and Japanese animators and will have the Beast Wars voices, and therefore Armada is different.

Oh, and I don't consider the movie to be a series, just a movie. However, if this list were Transformers properties in general, it would EASILY be #1. It would also make a great In-Flight movie, and any of the aforementioned series on my list would make great Toonami shows, I think.

    Are you listening, Cartoon Network?

I only ever saw a few episodes of G1, but the G1 movie is pretty good. RiD was blah. I like Beast Wars immensely though. Beast Machines could have been better in places but it was good too.

    Beast Wars man. Rawr.

And for the record, the best looking Transformer ever is easily Cheetor, Transmetal 2. The form when he had the claws that could tear through metal, and the rocket on his back.

Man that was an awesome form.

BTW, Optimus, the original Transformers was animated in Japan, as was the movie.

He said that RID was totally Japanese, Transformers, and Armada are being made mostly by Hasbro.
