Good Matt. squash it before it gets out of hand
There is a site called Anime Tourist that.. well, they're not very reliable, although people are starting to quote their news a LOT recently, what with Comic Con announcements.
They've been saying in a lot of announcements that, among other things, Dragonball GT is going to be airing in September, and is in the dubbing process.
Kyle Hebert has put a stop to the fake news, squashing it with his mighty rumor mallet.
"Z will start in September, NOT GT. Funi hasn't even started on GT yet, as we are working on DBZ, YYH, DB, and Fruits Basket. Someone just gave out the wrong info."
So, if someone mentions Anime Tourist's news, please point them to this thread or something.
Good Matt. squash it before it gets out of hand
I'm not that trusting. I kept my finger on the trigger the whole time
Thanks for posting this info on the Toonami forum Matt, actually I think it should go on the main news page as well, so everyonme can see it.
I didn't believe the news to begin with thanks to this magical thing called common sense! Of course DBGT isn't going to start in September when DBZ isn't complete yet. Funi wants to milk the franchise for what it's woth and would be incredibly stupid to broadcast both at the same time. I remember seeing some info a while ago that DBGT wouldn't air till next year anyways, so I knew it wasn't true, but it's good to disprove this for the many, many idiodic children out there that will believe any BS that is feed to them.
Matt Wilson, enemy of stupidity in children, thank you.![]()
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.
GT in September? Maybe next September, if FUNimation stops working on almost everything they're doing now.
in the Adult Swim thread for Matt. The rest of the thread is intact for those that want to discuss.
DBGT is probably going to air on Toonami next fall. So, just wait till FUNi gets a chance on dubbing for next year.
"MY fault? How is it MY, Twiddle? I guess its true what they say, Twuzz; you get what you pay for." - L.B. The Bounder, Teddy Ruxpin
"AND HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU, MY NAME IS TWEEG!!" - Jack W. Tweeg, Teddy Ruxpin
Well if YYH has over 100 episodes then Funi is going to be busy for a while.![]()
DBGT will come in next September. FUNi will probably try to get Dragon Ball done by then, as they now only have two other animes to worry about, YYH and Fruits Basket.
I would find it pretty sad if someone actually believed GT would come this September when Z isn't even done yet.
"The advance is hip right now, but the original has a place in my heart, unlike pocket which only had the plastic grey, though color had killer appies for things like the sewing machine, not much use for virtual anymore, huh."
Good job! Stop the rumors before they even start. I hate rumors.
N
it has to be starting fall 2003 cause the episode guide at tv tome saysas the last episodeSpoiler:
Doesn't matter to me cause well Z isn't even done yet. And plus, i don't find GT fun to watch. Well not as Z was. And it's only 65 eps or so cause it, well i guess wasn't big in Japan.
I really don't care when it comes out. I've seen most of it already.
I'd rather wait for DBZ confirmations.
Not many like GT because Akira Toriyama wasn't involved with it outside character designs so it lacked a certain "feel".
Sequel shows should never be made if the original creator ain't there. That's the lesson here, kids.

Anime News Network has reported both that DBGT will be released in September AND that the voice actors have NOT started work on it. Make of that what you will.Originally posted by Matt Wilson

I tend to trust them more than Anime Tourist, but they get their news from the same sources (announcements at trade-show and convention panels).
I'll ask The Rob for the real scoop when he gets back in town.
Love means never having to say "That's disgusting!"
Eschew obfuscation!
Yup, FUNimation will just totally forget about getting any new shows, and rely on only those two.Originally posted by KingKoopa

And how would that work? Hmm? Would they release some fan-subbed episodes? I don't think so. Let them finish Z and the OG before they get to the GT.Anime News Network has reported both that DBGT will be released in September AND that the voice actors have NOT started work on it. Make of that what you will.
