    "Titan A.E." - Great In-Flight Movie...

    Like This Thread!
Who else would like to see this movie air on Toonami "In-Flight Movies." Cartoon Network is known to acquire movies from other companies, including Universal, among others. "Titan A.E." which was created by Don Bluth, is a great movie, which was released by 20th Century Fox. I'd love to see it on Toonami as an In-Flight movie and the rights to it shouldn't be too hard to acquire because it was a big flop. It only grossed about $20 million in the United States.

Re: Titan A.E. Toonami In-Flight Movie

Toonami needs all the movies it can grab. Titan A.E. It would diffidently be consider Toonami material and should used as an In-flight Movie.

Titan AE is a decent movie... but it's also a Fox production. And we all know how much Fox luuuuves to give away the rights to its stuff.

I personally despised the movie, although I can certainly see it fitting on Toonami. I wouldn't say seeing it on the block is a far stretch.

I didn't like it either. Too many Star Wars elements for me to enjoy it. And I'm not a big fan of the animation here either. I never saw The Iron Giant, but from the previews, it looked more suitable for Cartoon Network than Titan A.E..

I put Titan A.E. on the same level as the Iron Giant: they were okay. The characters weren't that interesting and neither was the plot. I doubt Titan A.E. will ever see the light of Toonami though, it would probably be to expensive to buy the rights from Fox.

I put Titan A.E. on the same level of Iron Giant too, only I thought they were both waaaay past frelling brilliant!

I'd love to see Titan A.E. on Toonami, but I just don't see it happening. It's a FOX property and I don't see them taking a chance that CN would market it in a way so that it gets the attention that it deserved when it was first release. Putting it on Toonami alone I think would make FOX's marketing "campaign" just look bad.

That would be a good dream tho.....

If Titan A.E. would fall into CN's hands, it would be a great addition but really it's a pipedream.

I'm not too sure about Iron Giant. It just looks like a 90-minute episode of Gigantor to me.

Finally saw Iron Giant (pretty good). I'm glad to see this than Titan A.E.. Know why it didn't do well in theaters?? Because it's not a good movie. If it does show up though, I have no problem with it (after all, they do show Land Before Time). I'll just change the channel.

I thought Iron Giant was a potenial animation classic and I thought it was better than any American or Disney production since The Secret of N.I.M.H, Heavy Metal, and Transformers: The Movie. Titan A.E. was a good film as me being a fan of N.I.M.H I looked foward to seeing a seroius film from Don Bluth. Anyway back to the point..Titan would be a good nomination. It would go well with the Batman, Sailor Moon, DBZ and other movies on Toonami. Thats just my opionion I could be wrong.

    Rock&Rule... Even better in-flight movie

Rock&Rule was a seriously underrated Nelvana production from the early 80s. (Say what you will about their current work, but in their early days they were uber-cool). It had an awesome soundtrack by Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Deborah Harry (of Blondie), Cheap Trick, and Earth, Wind, and Fire.

They'll probably have to edit a few scenes because of drug references and implied nudity. Maybe it would be better for Adult Swim. Anyway, it's a great film about struggling musicians, post-apocalyptic mutants, and demon summoning. Too bad it never came out on video, unless I'm mistaken.

A few of the songs made it on to a Cheap Trick greatest hits album a few years ago.

I remember Rock n Rule come on TNT a couple of years ago it came on after Heavy Metal and American Pop. So I think in theory that they could show it on AS and maybe Toonami this was a couple of years ago so I really don't remember anything in detail of what they edited or anything.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I haven't been on for a week, and i need to say something regarding this topic.

I like the movie Titan A.E. and can see it fitting in really well with the Toonami block as In-Flight Movie. Another movie that I can see on the block...but is owned by another company is: Final Fantasy: Spirits Within. I love this movie, and like Titan A.E., it was a flop. Occasionally i find someone who likes this movie too. The animation is awsome, it has action, adventure, and probubly needs a bit of editing...However, i can see how if CN got rights to this movie, they wouldn't air it untill later at night...it is a bit violent. Maybe a "Night-Flight" Movie?

What is Titan A. E. about, anyway? I thought that The Iron Giant was a good movie. It makes you wonder why it wasn't pushed when it first came out.
