LoL, anyone see DBZ today? Today's lines about clearly occupied buildings being abandoned on Sundays, etc... where pretty bad...

Still looking forward to the infamous 'parachute' line.

"The city was evacuated"
"too bad its sunday, otherwise those buildings would have been full"

I am dying to know what the ocean dubbers were thinking when they worked on these episodes.

I think they were more focused on the long hours and cramped workspace, or at least Ian Corlett was.

Personally I'd like to think that they were mocking the lines for all they were worth. My understanding is that most VA's love to have fun with the lines, especially the bad ones.

You don't hear about it much but the studios do occasionally release that stuff into the public domain. Kind of like the infamous Thundercats clips. FUNi's also been known to post dub flubs on-line now and again.

LoL!!!!! It was on today. Not to mention more ridiculous ones about cargo robots and such... You gotta hand it to FUNI DBZ, it's nothing special plot wise, or from a character standpoint, but those lines sure as hell make it a great comedy...

You got to hand it to Saban to do something like that. "Uh I see them yeah!! That's right!! Yeah there paracutes opened." But the helicopter literally how should i say this, SPLODED!! "Yeah now they landed. There corpses uh I mean THEY are on fire now, but there all right!!!

Yea, watching these old episodes is hilarious.

Nappa: That area may have been evacuated, but it'll give em something to think about!

Getta load of Vegeta. As you guys can clearly see (if you watched todays episode that is) he was very different looking in the beginning of DBZ. He looks alright when he's fighting Goku though. Thank god...

He just looks pretty dumb when they first arrive. It's like he has no muscles.... Gohan probably has more muscles then he does right now.

I didn't see any parachutes. I also don't believe that the city was evacuated or that it was sunday.

I have an eerie feeling that the people of the city and the reporters in the helicopters were actually.....killed by the ki blast.

My little sister saw this episode subtitled, and something weird happened, she seemed capable of handling that unseen or barely seen characters were being killed by evil saiyans. What a concept, a child understanding something as complex as dbz

in dbz, it's easy to identify villains. and it's also easy to tell when millions of people die by the hands of those villains. your sister (like most kids today) knows what's happening and knows THIS IS NOT REAL.

Yes! I finally got to hear the infamous 'parachutes' line! I didn't know when it was going to be, so I nearly peed my pants when I heard it. While I appreciate seeing the old DBZ eps for the story and characters, I gotta say it's got a lot of comic value as well.

But I still wanna see the unchopped versions!

The guy made some stupid petition saying that the title of the next Lord of the Rings movie "The Two Towers" should be changed because it might remind people of September 11th. But how are you gonna change the title of a movie that is based off a book made over 40 years ago?

At least they changed the color for his armor on Earth. Imagine if his pink and green armor would have made it through the whole series. Wouldn't have as many Vegeta fans then.
