    "Beyblade" coming to Toonami UK

    Like This Thread!
It begins this June. It's dubbed by Nelvana. Famous for having ruined Cardcaptors.

[indent]I assume Beyblade is not American, is it anime or a European series? While Nelvana is infamous for what they did to Cardcaptors they did produce some quality stuff for Fox back in the 90s such as Eek! the Cat and etc.

Beyblade is a true anime. It's also p[retty much a 30 minute commercial unlike CCS, so there shouldn't be much for Nelvana to destroy. View the opening and closing videos and or things at the Anime Intro Archieve Beyblade page there is also a second series called Beyblade 2002 that probably is included in the deal and you can view Anime Intro Archieve's page on that at http://www.anzwers.org/free/animeint...blade2002.html
Also note that this page's video download is extremely slow, so a majority of the time nothing will download, but you can use the names to find a page where you can download the material. Also here's the japanese links for both shows along with a japanese products page.

    Beyblade
TV Tokyo's Official Beyblade page(japense only)
Takara's Official Beyblade products page(japanese only)

    Beyblade 2002
    Same as previous links

Also of note couurtesy of Anime Intro Archieve Beyblade is a 51 episode series that ran from January 8, 2001 till December 24, 2001. Beyblade 2002 is the current series and started on January 7, 2002, i'd expect a 51 episode run for this as well, so Nelvana has 102 epsides they can show, and if it does well in the UK, I'd expect a US run possibly as a mid-season replacement on Kids WB, but ABC is also possible since they're getting into anime doing Digimon Frontier supposedly this fall.

Well now that I've given you more information that you'll probably ever need I think I'll stop. Late.
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.

I always wondered what those Beyblade commercials were based on. Now I know.

It won't be on Toonami, or Cartoon Network. I read in Toon Zone News that it will be on ABC Family.

wow...they certainly can make an anime out of just about anything. BUT, if you ask me...they'll never top that one anime about the chef guy who's head was edible. Panamanaman..or something like that, I think. Mmmm...Yummy!

ANYWAY...it's shows like this that I just can't even begin to possibly conceive as being good. Like Yugioh. I mean...it looks good, and I hear the story really is good...but..it's about a card game..and it's so seriously-toned...I'm sorry, the whole thing boggles my mind. You can't just make a serious show about a card game!! And...beyblades....*sigh*........thats insane...

I'm just going to stick with my show about the guy who's head you can eat....mmmm!

My tremendous intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled...

Shinzo is finally going to air?

    WWWAAAAAAHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I always thought a series of a girl who finds she is the last surviving human on a conquered earth sounded like it would be more interesting than say, Alienators. I'd read about Shinzo airing on Fox Kids in other countries, and reports that it would be coming to the U.S. next season, and getting very frustrated when it never showed.

As for Beyblade, Animerica brought out a review on the phenomenon in this month's issue. The reviewer concluded "One would think that winning at a game of spinning tops would theoretically take about as much skill as winning at Rock 'em Sock 'em robots....A recent Beyblade sortie at the Viz offices ended up with employees drinking beer, throwing real money down, bleeding real blood from top-induced injuries, and threatening to spray paint the words "Beyblade Alley" on the walls. It was nearly a cockfight in miniature. And if that's not fun, I don't know what is." Maybe it's not as silly as it sounds. I'm at least willing to take a wait-and-see attitude to see if they've managed to capture that kind of fun and action in the show.

One problem, though. I've noted already that Hamaturo's early morning slot conflicts with part of ABC Family's Digimon hour, when ABC Family expands its programming to five hours, they're probably going to conflict with Toonami. And I've got only one VCR taping cable. I just hope my favorites don't end up competiting in the same time slot.
