What major story changes did Funimation make to DBZ.

What changes has Funimation made? Answer: BAD ONES!!! I'm not sure about story, but I do know that they dub it and edit it to absolute JUNK! People won't take it seriously as an anime show like they do all their other anime shows (which ironicaly, I detest!) and I really want to because I like the characters. It's just got so much stupid JUNK to overlook before you can get to the characters, but it's TOO MUCH to have to overlook.

The story has always been about lots and lots of fighting. I sat through 200 episodes of this show (in Cantonese) when I was a kid (hey, I liked no-story-lots-of-fighting back then), and the "junk" you speak of probably was already there. I mean, it's good guilty pleasure with likeable characters, but there IS a reason people take something like Gundam Wing (which is my least favourite Gundam series of all time, but I can see how it is more respected) more seriously than DBZ, which is pretty much just about overly drawn-out fighting.

DBZ is mostly cut when it comes to blood and overly graphic body contact. The earlier DBZ eps were more heavily edited, but for the most part, the show suffers from poor voice casting and choppy editing of choice fight scenes. The dialogue is pretty bad too, but that isn't too different from the original, which wasn't about anything meaningful.

Yeah, even without seeing the original you can tell when stuff has been edited. Like when cell puked up android 17.

Sure, it doesn't have much plot. I think of it as a guilty pleasure. After working all day, it's nice to have something to watch that you don't have to think about. And they blow stuff up real good.
