On the last MÄR, Ginta and company met the Knight Ash and learned a few good people were sitting in the Knight ranks, even if their looks were deceiving.

Today: A beauty contest is about to occur as Snow takes on Emokis. Can Snow prevail with the help of her new ÄRM?

Meet Team MÄR:

Ginta- This fun loving, free caring boy always dreamed of a video game, and one day his wish came true. He was taken to the game world he's nwo in, but exactly why did Ginta have those dreams in the first place? One thing's for sure- he's making the best in MÄR- Heaven with increased strength and perfect eye vision, but is there something more for him in this world?

Babbo- This is the only ÄRM in MÄR-Heaven with the ability to talk, but after an unusually long slumber, Babbo lost all his memories. After awakening, he wasn't too pleased to see Ginta, but eventually he realized that Ginta was a true friend and decided to go with him. Now Babbo protects the world, all the time pointing out that he's a gentleman and you'd better not touch his moustache, but now Babbo is learning more about his previous master, and he has joined Ginta with a desire to gain revenge for all the cruelty the chess Pieces are causing everyone, no matter what shape he has to change into to do so.

Dorothy- This witch has mysterious powers, and she has a great desire to collect legendary ÄRM's, but Babbo was too heavy for her, so she gave him to Ginta. Now Dorothy is an official member of Team MÄR, but will her powers be controllable for her own allies when she seems to have her own desires for being there?

Jack- This young man encountered Ginta after thinking he was a vegetable eating werewolf, but with Ginta and Babbo around, Jack realized he had an inner strength and was now the man of the house. Afterwards he joined Ginta on a journey and decided to fight the Chess Pieces to avenge his father's death. Will his hidden strength with vegetables serve as an ally in the long run though?

Alviss- This mysterious yuoung man brought Ginta to MÄR knowing the time was near when Phantom would rise again. Now he fights in the War Games hoping to remove the curse which will make him like Phantom, and he has decided to help Ginta form Babbo into an ally instead of becoming an enemy once more.

Alan- He's a member who fought in the first great war, but he got unlucky and is now trapped inside the dog Edward until Edward sleeps three times. Alan has the power of various training gates, but he is also super strong and is ready to do battle at all times. If he goes to sleep once though, then Edward will re-emerge.

Snow- Snow's kingdom is ruled by the Chess Pieces, so she has entered the War games hoping to free her people, but Queen is keeping a close eye on Snow for reasons no one really knows. Can Snow unlock her hidden strength to save everyone?

Nanashi- This man joined the MÄR warriors after he learned they weren't part of the Chess Pieces army. He asked them to help him get revenge for the fallen comrades of the Thieves Guild. At the same time Alviss always has a thing for the ladies, so everyone wondes if they can trust him in a serious fight.

Meet the Chess Piece Knights and Queen

Phantom- He's the commander in chief of the Chess Pieces, and he is always wanting entertainment. Originally he controlled Babbo, and he appears to be unkillable. While Phatom thinks he is the highest ranking official though, he is actually being deceived.

Peta- He's the strategic brains behind the Chess Pieces, and he is the first hand man to Phantom after he swore allegiance for unknown reasons. He may not participate in the War Ganes that often, but when he does, you know something big is about to occur.

Halloween- He's the second strongest knight behind Phantom, and he's the archenemy of Alan after he finished tied with him in the last War games. Little does Halloween know though that his desire to crush everyone could lead to his ultimate downfall.

Rolan- At first apperance Rolan appears to be a girly type man, but he's actually one of the stronger knights, and his zombie tatto will give anyone a run for their money, as Alviss is about to discover.

Ian- He may have startted as a Pawn, but Ian has slowly worked his way up the ranks, and now he has one mission, to defeat Ginta at all costs, that is if he manages to survive the training chamber he's currently in.

Chimera- Not much is known about this knight, but this person is one of the six stongest knights, and they use the forbidden Ghost ARM.

Vidar- He is known for having a tree grown from his head, but the tree only distracts people from the true powers this Chess Piece knight contains.

Rapunzel- If ever someone needed to let down there hair, it wasn't this Chess Piece. She is the big sister of Girom, and she has a natural compatibility for ICE weapons, meaning she'll probably become Snow's main rival.

Ash- Don't confuse this Chess Piece knight as the Grim Reaper, though that's what his intent is. He loves to confuse children with his mask, but his purpose may shock you when yuo learn what it is.

Candice- Not much is known about this Chess Piece knight, but she loves Phantom and seems to be willing to fight for him at all costs.

Galian- This Chess Piece knight seems to know everything about Nanashi, and a secret tie to the Thieve's Guild is connected to him, but what is his true purpose?

Kouga- This Chess Piece Knight has an immense displeasure for anyone he believes is handsome, but what other powers does he hold?

Pinnochio- You don't want to face this doll when he lies, and you'll see why when he obtains the rank of knight and gets into the War Games.

Magical Lou- This clown has a tie to Snow's childhood, but exactly why is he keeping an eye on Snow in the War Games? What are his true intentions?

Diana- She's the Queen of the Chess Pieces and a dangerous user when it comes to keeping an eye out for danger, but she has a secret desire when it comes to Snow and Dorothy. Exactly what are her intentions?


Other noticeable characters:

Koyuki- She's Ginta's friend from back home, but she also has a connection to Ginta and Snow allowing her to see the various events that are transpiring and keep Ginta's mom and friends informed of the events.

Belle- This tiny fairy follows Alviss every where, but while she doesn't have any fighting skills, she's good when it comes to spying on others.

Edward- This canine serves as the guardian for Snow, and he always worries about her well being. A curse had trapped him and Alan together, but now he's back as the full-time watch dog. Can he avoid Snow's charm though to keep her out of trouble?

Pozun- This demon doesn't seem to have any special talents, but he does serve as the judge for the War Games and is a devout member of the Chess Pieces.

Gaira- This man participated in the previous War Games and is now training Team MAR in the ways of The Cross Guard with his patented training gate. Gaira possesses immense skills and is always ready to provide guidance where it's needed.

This show relies a bit to heavily on "I'm prettier than you, but I'm actually incredibly ugly" situations.

But Emokis... emo... kis? Great name.

What's up with Candice, she's like a loon or something. I never expected her to act so silly.

Is Phantom the King of the chess pieces? Cause sometimes he addresses Diana like she's above him. In which case, who is the King?

Phantom is like the General. He's a Knight, but he's the leader of the other Knights. Diana is the Queen and thus higher than him and finally we have yet to see the King, he's mysterious.

Huh, I guess I just always assumed that Phantom was King. I don't think they ever really made it clear that he was just a Knight. And they definitely never made it clear that there was someone above him and Diana.

As far as I can recall, it hasn't even been brought up at this point. I don't know if it's supposed to be some big surprise or not, though with a queen around, chances are there's king somewhere.

So far the only real hint about a King, I believe, is when Chess Piece ranks were first being explained and we were shown a chart listing, from lowest to highest: Pawn-Rook-Bishop-Knight-Queen ???-King ??? Or at least I believe that's what it looked like.

King is stronger than Queen. The Chess Piece army do not mirror the chess game in its entirety.

Good episode, nice, though unothodox, match between Snow and Emokis. I feel sorry for the sword guardian arm, but Snow's new arm is nice, with a merciful personality.

I give this episode a 4 out 5. Not the best episode of Mar, but a solid episode none the less.

I can't figure out which was weirder: the candy house or Emokis growing as she ate the candy house. I'm glad to see Snow's new guardian isn't ice. Ice may be Snow's best element, but she needed something that would allow her to compete in the volcano and desert grounds. Her new water guardian gives her exactly that.

As for the poll, we seem to have a unanimous decision this week. Doesn't anyone want to see Emokis in a beauty contest, especially with that candy house?
