Dragonball: "The Kamehameha Wave" Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!

    Episode 8
Japanesse title: "The Turtle Elders Kamehameha"
    English title: "The Kamehameha Wave"

Today, Goku and Chi Chi have made it successfully to the Turtle Hermits Island, but now they must locate the mysterious Banjo Fan to rescue Chi Chi and Ox's castle. When Master Roshi ends up having thrown it away though, he comes up with another way to put out the flames, a way that will influence Goku for the rest of his life.

Goku: This boy is super strong and actually appears to be younger than he is. He was raised by the wise Master Gohan who he calls his grandfather, but Goku has a story that will keep people interested for ages to come.

Bulma: Bulma is a young and attractive female that has one wish in mind, to have the perfect boyfriend. Looks are deceiving though as Bulma is a technical genius and creates a dragon radar to find the mysterious Dragonballs. Can Bulma find true love when she meets this mysterious young boy?

Oolong: This young pig may look like a weakling, but his ability to shapeshift can come in handy, especially when they are searching for the Dragonball's.

Puar: This innocent cat may look friendly enough, but she actually attended the same school Oolong went to, and she can hold her shape a lot longer than Oolong. Now that she's teamed up with Yamcha, it could cause problems for the gang.

Yamcha: Don't let that face confuse you. This Yamcha is much older than the one who first appears, and he only loves one thing: money. Yamcha secretly craves though to not be afrad of women, and his wolf's fang fist can cause problems for anyone.

Emperor Pilaf, Shu, & Mai: Who ever said evil comes in all sizes was right when it comes to Pilaf. He desires to rule the world, and with Shu as a master pilot and Mai as an evil scientist genius, he might be successful.

Master Roshi: This man may appear elderly, but he remains one of the worlds top martial artists. The former teacher of Ox and Grandpa Goku will be unleashing an attack that everyone will come to fear.

Turtle: The wise, old sea turtle doesn't appear to have anything special about him, but he is one of Roshi's oldest friends. It ends up that Turtle is one of the wisest creatures around, but can he keep Roshi on the straight and narrow, epecially with the group about to join him at Turtle Island?

Chi Chi: Viewers beware. Chi Chi can cause you a scare. Sure, right now she's a scaredy cat and a lot younger looking, but Chi Chi is about to receive a promise from Goku she will carry in her heart for the remainder of her days.

Ox King: He's as strong as an ox, which is one of the reasons he got this name, but his castle is currently in flames, and even Ox can't put it out. This means Ox King must get some help from young Goku and his former master, but will Master Roshi forgive him for his bullying armor ways?

Next week- Episode 9- "Boss Rabbit's Magic Touch"

College football, basketball, the NFL, the NBA, and MLB. I may not be an expert, but these sports always keep me fascinated if the game is good!

I've always loved how Goku blasts their car with a Kamehameha wave and ignores Bulma's complaints. Roshi getting dizzy from the turtle is also another part of the episode I like. We see a little character development from everyone, outside of Pilaf and co., here, and we also get that invitation that Goku will use to become the strongest in this life and in the afterlife, training with Roshi.

Is it just me or were some of the lyrics in the opening different this week?

There was one new line of lyrics in the opening song. The rest was the same, but at different timing. I wonder why this one episode had it that way though when none of the others do (that I've seen or heard).

I think I can notice what it is:

"Let's try, try, try, try, sieze the day.
Now we're giving up and making friends along the way!"

At least that's what I thought it sounded like.

Plus there's "Set a course for action, adventure on the way" at the end.

Still, I love it when Master Roshi was getting dizzy on the Baby Gamela. "Buffalo gals, won't you come out tonight? Come out tonight? I'm getting dizzy." And Goku actually learns the Kamehameha Wave in a few minutes. That's almost the origin of how even the youngest of kids can go powerful, like Goten being the youngest Super Saiyan, and Trunks going Super Saiyan at a young age. The power of a legendary warrior was reduced to a mere child's plaything!

Or if you're playing DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 or 3 on the Wii with a Classic Controller: L + X + Left Analog to the Side! And speaking of which, Kid Chi-Chi (with the dangerous beam helmet and Bansho Fan), Kid Krillin, and Classic Yamcha are all playable in BT3!
