Lol, this kid sounds like a joke.
This probably dosen't deverse it's own topic, but I found it to be kinda funny.

This guy is "ranting" about how "bad" Toonami has gotten. While Toonami isn't at it's prime, I think it's better than what he is saying. The thing that's cracking me up is the guys voice. He sounds pretty young for a 20 year old.

I couldn't sit through it.
Youtube has ruined my tolerance for bad acting.
2010 Completed Game List
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth; God of War III; Final Fantasy XIII; Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots; Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney; Grandia; Castlevania: Symphony of the Night; Power Stone; Power Stone 2; Dino Crisis
I did. It's pretty terrible.
However, after a week or so, there will be comments praising the guy for doing this and plans on how to bring the "old" Toonami back. Most of their suggestions are either petitions or going to CN HQ and putting the old TOM on by force. The block would go back to weekdays, and it has to air the classic Toonami shows(Gundam Wing, Tenchi, Outlaw Star, etc.) with very little change in the lineup. And it must stay that way forever.![]()
That's how most of it goes when it comes to Toonami on YouTube.
If the one thing I can give this guy credit for, it's that he didn't bash the new shows. Most of the time, I see people bashing the new shows with very little reason. Also, somebody should tell him Miguzi is gone. I'll get veemonjosh to do it. =p
It's fun to hear someone rant about Toonami when they don't even sound like they know anything about it.

I love how he completely butchers Chris Sabat's last name.

I'm not sure either?
Hmm, how can i make a joke here...
Toonami is transitioning, just like this freak
i couldn't stand the voice..
Wow, that was sad. She didn't really make much sense, lots of "um"s and "thing"s, and her arguements are outdated (Miguzi?), doesn't seem like she actually knows what she's talking about. *Shakes head* Good for a laugh though, especially the bad pronunciation in the One Piece vid. Somebats, rofl. Though, I will agree that TOM 4 and crew needed an origin story.
Her FanFiction.net profile says her gender is female, tho she does sound like a boy. Creepy.
Toonami isn't as strong as it was during 2003-2004 but I don't think it's entirely ruined nor out of potential. The Naruto edit shows how far Toonami has come, and with more and more shows going TV-PG on us I think that Toonami is finally readying to appeal to the teen demographic at long last . . . and its acknowledging that the original Naruto fans are getting older.
That's one the reasons I do like Naruto, for all of its flaws. It grows and matures with you. And maybe Naruto will force Toonami to mature with it.

Naruto hasn't really caused the rest of the block to mature per say but it opened the door to common PG content and that's a big step. Naruto Shippudden will probably come sooner rather than later (I'd peg it for Fall of 2008 at the moment) and that'll kick things up yet another notch if nothing else comes along to help that process.
Here's the dilema with more mature content that Toonami has. The stuff CN is interested in ends up on Adult Swim and the stuff CN isn't interested in isn't even considered despite the Toonami crew putting in a good word for it (Gundam SEED Destiny for instance). They also wont play anything "old" besides DBZ reruns so that closes a bunch of other doors. And there's one more problem. Far too many youth oriented shows in Japan push too far beyond PG for CN to consider them plausible choices for Toonami.
You'd think something like Code Geass would work but there is some seriously questionable content in that show.
ADV getting Gurren Laagan isn't going to make things any easier but at least Pepperidge thinks that one would be great for Toonami (as he's seen so far, not sure if he's changed his mind on that since we last talked). A Gainax show on Toonami would surely get some people to think differently about our favorite action animation block.
That and I think WS is just plain lazy these days. So unless a company edits the show themselves they'll probably opt for Adult Swim unless it's definently a tame enough kids show. The days of WS total edits like Kenshin and Tenchi are long over my friend. And even with PG there's some things you still can't keep in at least Tenchi (Kenshin would be pretty passable though I figure).
I'd also say Naruto is comparitively more mature than most of the anime CN has aired over the years. It's violent, it's got dark themes, it's got heartbreaking drama and it doesn't try to hide that it includes these things. It's certainly in the same league as Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, etc. Even so it has a youthfulness to it that those shows didn't and thats probably why it does better with children than they did even in their primes.
