    Tweaked intro?

    Like This Thread!
This is entirely nerdy on my part, but discussion is discussion I guess and I'm looking to confirm my possible observation.

Now the new 07 Intro as seen on the TDA is snazzy, the animation is surprisingly fantastic (personal opinions on how the models look aside) - but one thing I noticed, from the very first time I downloaded the intro off TDA, was how awful and seemingly crude the exterior of the building Tom and his Gang are in was created:

It almost looks like terrain from a SinCity game, which always surprised me considering the detail the rest of the intro has. I'd always chalked it up to them not really caring about the exterior, after all we only see it for a few seconds and the only way to really observe it's quality is to slow it down. However tonight, in the intro that just aired - (unless I've somehow imagined it) it seems like they re-did that exterior in the opening. Adding more trees and texture.

Anyone else notice this/can confirm it...or am I just going crazy?

Yeah, I think I noticed that too. At least we both know we're not going crazy now.

Well now we know what TOM has been doing outside all this time: gardening.
ASF: You will download Adult Swim promos and intros because we told you to.

I'll have to watch out for this tonight. I believe I saw it last week, but I just thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Looks like they also polished the lighting. The door of the building has a light on the outside now. They also added the reflections of the video screens to TOM's face at the end.

Perhaps the first intro was rushed and they simply ran out of time to render the animation - so they cut aspects out that increase render time without really cutting down on the quality of the animation itself.

Yeah, I'm voting for "rushed out the door."

The original intro had three different aspect ratios, like one group didn't know what the others were doing. Now they just crop off the excess.

Both versions are now available on TDA.

As for the colors looking better, that might be a change they did on their end, or it could be my new satellite receiver and shorter cable runs.
