This is the last New Naruto of 2006 fix folks, so enjoy it because you'll only be getting more English Naruto goodness come next year. Till then though...
Japanese Title: " I Wasn't Late for Nothing! Ultimate Move - Chidori revealed!!"
English Title: "Late For The Show But Ready To Go! The Ultimate Secret Technique Revealed" Talkback.
Last Time: Gaara and Sasuke batteled, with Sasuke gaining an early advantage due to mimmicking Rock Lee's fighting style and being able to speed around and knock down the creepy Sand Genin. However speed (as proven by Lee in his fight) ain't gonna be enough to beat Gaara, who begins to use "That Jutsu" as he encases himself in a incredibley hard and unbreakable sand cocoon as Sasuke can only watch in horror. Or is there something else he can do....
Tonight: We're gonna end Naruto 2006 on a somewhat boon of a bang folks. To not give away too many spoilers, there's secret techniques, long explanation about said techniques (Otherwise this show couldn't be Shonen now could it?) and a big surprise that you sort of saw coming. Who will win between Gaara and Sasuke, and will spoilers from the Recap special finally start coming true?
Characters:
Naruto Uzumaki(Age: 12, Allegiance: Leaf): Our loudmouthed protagonist, Naruto has grown up completely alone because of the 9 tailed fox sealed inside him. His one desire is to become Hokage and recieve the acknowledgment of the other villagers. His special technique is Shadow Clone Jutsu(Kage Bunshin no jutsu), and he has now learned the Summoning Jutsu(Kuchiyose no Jutsu) from Jiraiya. He defeated Neji in the Main Fights, and has heard part of the story of how Gaara was born, realizing he has similarites betweent he Sand Ninja Genin and making him think that no one can take this guy on, perhaps not even Sasuke...
Gaara(Age: 12, Allegiance: Sand. Teamates: Kankuro (Gaara's older brother who beat Sound Ninja Misuni) and Temari (Gaara's Older sister who beat Tenten): A ninja from the Village Hidden in the Sand who showed up at the Village for the Chuunin Exams. Gaara, Temari, and Kankurou made it through the Second Exam in Record time, and Gaara finished with no dirt on him at all. Gaara is able to manipulate Sand, and prior to fighting Lee had never been touched before. His signature technique is the Sand Burial, and he manages to avoid harm using his Sand Shield. Gaara has a much darker side to him that scares even his siblings and under certain conditions his violent nature has temporaily awoken. Gaara has beaten Rock Lee to secure his position in the offical third part of the exam and is fighting Sasuke Uchida in the last First Match of the last part of the Chunin Exams. Of course that's not the only thing he's suppose to do, but "That Jutsu" may change all that...
Sasuke Uchiha(Age: 12, Allegiance: Leaf): Sasuke is a member of the Uchiha Clan which held the legendary Sharingan Eye. He is the last survivor after his elder brother Itachi massacred the clan. Sasuke is an avenger who seeks to gain revenge on him. His special technique is Fire Style, Fireball Jutsu(Katon, Goukakyu no jutsu), and he can use the Sharingan as well. Orochimaru gave Sasuke a Cursed Seal, which briefly overtook Sasuke, making him extremely malicious. Thanks to Kakashi sealing it up though, the curse mark is no longer harming him, and has been training with the Jonin since his recovery. But will it be enough, espically against Gaara's monstrous powers? Let's just say there was a reason he was so late...
Kakashi Hatake(Age: 26, Allegiance: Leaf): Almost all of his friends are dead. He places a heavy emphasis on teamwork, and believes those who abandon their friends are worse then scum. He is well known amongst both allies and enemies as the "Copy Ninja", and he has a Sharingan in his left eye, which he normally keeps concealed. Although he knows over 1000 ninjutsu, his greatest is his own personal jutsu, the Lightning Blade(Raikiri). Has been training Sasuke for the exams the last month or so. But just why were they so late getting to the arena? Let's just say it wasn't because they were picking flowers...
Rock Lee(Age: 13, Allegiance: Leaf): Lee is a Leaf Ninja taking the Chuunin Exams. Lee aspires to surpass Neji, above everything else. He also works extremely hard, and focuses solely on taijutsu. Rock Lee has modeled himself after his sensei, Gai, and obediently follows all of his instructions. Lee's best technique is the "Lotus", which puts great strain on his muscles and can only be used when protecting someone special to him. Unfourantley after his battle with Gaara in the prelims, where he used the true power of the Lotus to try and defeat the sand village genin (and still sadly lost) he was banged up in such bad shape he may never be able to become a ninja. But that isn't stopping him from watching the next fight along with his sensei Gai, even if he is jealous of Naruto and Sasuke for surpassing him.
Gai: (Age: 26, Allegiance: Leaf): Gai is a jounin like Kakashi. He and Kakashi are rivals for all eternity, and Gai is currently leading their rivalry 50-49. Gai is very passionate, and has inspired such a passion in his student, Rock Lee. He also boasts extremely fast speed. Gai has a special bond with Lee and is determined to see the kid follow his dream, even if the dream seems all but dead...
3rd Hokage(Age: 68, Allegiance: Leaf): The wise leader of the Village Hidden By Leaves, he is the strongest ninja in the whole village. He looks out for all of the villagers, and is revered by everone.
Genma Shiranui(Age: 29, Allegiance: Leaf): The badass, senbon in mouth, proctor for the main fights of the 3rd Exam.
The Kazekage: The leader of the Village Hidden in the Sand, he has travelled to the Leaf in order to watch the Exam. But that's not all he came to do...
Kabuto Yakushi(Age: 18, Allegiance: Leaf): At first glance, Kabuto appears to be a nice genin, and an elder one who has failed the exam many times. In truth, Kabuto is actually a spy for Orochimaru. The true levels of his skill are unknown, but he seems to have some large plot in this plan against the Konoaghaure that's set to take place during this exam, and the skills to knock out Akamaru and Kiba with one single touch...
SPOILERS: As per usual don't spoil the episodes that are to come in 2007. Also this episode will catch people up manga wise (at least till the next Shonen Jump comes) so no manga spoilers either, even though you really can't do that yet... in America.

I'm glad they kept Chidori, but I really hope they don't add "One Thousand Birds" to the title every time they refer to it...it's just a tad wordy.
Well, Sasuke's got his uber-move, so now we just have to wait and see Naruto's.

No way, there's no way Hokage got caught so easily even if it was Kazekage who was behind him especially since he knew this ambush was coming hence the ANBU Black Ops in the arena scattered all over the place. It had to be some substitution jutsu.
