This series sounds like a good idea. I hope it goes to CN because I know they'll treat it right. If it goes to Toonami, then they should air it weekly on Super Saturday (when it eventually stops playing DBZ) or on Friday (like they did Reboot.)
Hasbro is currently working on a brand new series called "Transformers: Armada" as I'm sure many of you already know. No animation studio is currently attached, but it is expected that Mainframe will animate. Anyway, the series will supposedbly merge different "Transformers" universes into one and would include some new and existing characters from every series. However, that is subject to change. A formal announcement is expected at this year's Toy Fair, which takes place in February.
I don't know if Cartoon Network is going to air the new series, but its chances of airing it are much higher now that Fox sold their block to 4Kids Entertainment. Anyway, if this series airs on Cartoon Network, I think it would be great if it aired in primetime like "Justice League" and "Samurai Jack". Realistically, being a new series, "Armada" would only have 13 - 26 episodes for its first season, so it definitely wouldn't air weekdays. Yes, some shorter series have aired, but being that this is newly produced, I think CN would have it air weekly. However, it would be a great idea to air some of the older "Transformers" series during Toonami, including "Beast Wars" and "Beast Machines," and the original "Transformers" series. This would be a good way to get in new fans and not confuse many when they would see "Armada".
Alas, this is just wishful thinking. Vincent, transform!

I'm still in denial that such an amazing-sounding show can truly exist.
Or that it can exist and actually work in terms of continuity. It almost sounds like the TF equivalent of Turn-A Gundam in that, from what I was told (sadly, haven't seen it to confirm), it tries to mesh both the UC timeline with the AC timeling into the same continuity and failing rather badly.
At least Transformers has the bonus of not ever having to work with a fictional yearly calendar.
What you call Courage, is it not just Pride?
What you think is Love, could it not be just Lust?
Has your want for Friendship ever been blinded by your Wrath?
Does your thirst for Knowledge ever get tainted by Greed?
Does your sense of Reliability ever come short and become Sloth?
Is it truly Sincerity...or merely Envy?
Is it truly Hope that you seek or are you just a victim of Gluttony?
Where are your Savers...?
Cartoon Network needs to get this series. I'm really looking forward to it.Originally posted by Dark Spider

They also need to bring back Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio.
Most definitely! "Beast Machines" might have turned out differently if they were on.Originally posted by Mr. Obsession

Maybe, both Fox Kids and Ha$bro would have put in their two cents (over and over and over and over...) regardless of who the brought in to head up the series. So instead the brought in two guys who were more willing to accept “input” from the suits than Forward & DiTillio.
At least the didn't get rid of Marv Wolfman.Well, they may have tired but...

. People wanted to crucify him when they saw Beast Machines. Even I wasn't too happy with the organic Cybertron idea. But rewatching some old episodes I have on a tape, in hindsight, BM wasn't all that bad. At least not the first season and the last episodes of the second.
Can you imagine what the promos for the original Transformers would be like on CN. Especially with Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen, doing the voice over. Hey, here's an idea! If CN does get the right to air Armada, would they be willing to hire Cullen to reprise his role as the original Optimus Prime? That would be a dream come true.
I would love to see Armada go to CN. In fact, it seems the only place it can go anymore. 4Kids has Fox, it would probably be "too violent" for Nickelodeon (cringe), and can you picture Transformers lined up with Scooby Doo and Static Shock (double cringe)? CN all the way!

I don't know much about DiTillio, but Forward's written for just about everything from Thundercats and He-Man to Batman: TAS and X-Men: Ev. Don't have a clue as to what they're doing these days.Originally posted by JohnCrichton

Isn't Forward writting on Static Shock?
Bob Forward also worked on Kong: The Animated Series.
Ditillio also worked on He-Man back in the day.
He's been pegged to help come up with the story for the new He-Man universe.
In fact, I'd say he's the guy in charge.
They originally wanted J. Michael...whatshisname, but, let's face it, I doubt he has the time anymore.
DiTillio's going to be heading up the new He-Man!?!Originally posted by Sprocket

Personally I'm a little disappointed that it looks like the show won't be animated by mainframe. However everything else makes up for that.
On the very bright side, this news all but guarantees that if CN does get Armada, they’ll probably get the original too (which Hasbro wants back on the air, bad). They'd be very stupid not to air the original cartoon along side Armada.
Yeah, it sounds cool. But who will animate? Warner Bros. Animation, possibly? They're doing the new "Ninja Turtles," why not revist another eighties classic? I'm just hoping we get a few Maximals, but that looks unlikely. Darn.Originally posted by Mr. Obsession

I think it will probably end up being a collaboration between a North American studio and a Japanese Studio, kind of like the original.Originally posted by Vincent Benenati

Since it looks like Mainframe won't be animating it, I hope it's completely cel based (I'm beginning to feel like cel animation is becoming a lost art in the age of digital animation). And if it is a collaboration than the costs will be spread out enough to allow for some very high quality animation. Maybe I'm just dreaming here, but given how far animation has come in the last 15 years I think they could reach something on the level at least of that of the movie.
And since we're returning to old characters they need to bring back as many of the old VA's as they can. Especially Peter Cullen & Frank Welker.
Yeah. I just feel so stupid because I listened to a lot of those rumors and ended up believing them. Now, I'm somewhat disappointed. I was looking forward to a merged universes idea.Originally posted by Mr. Obsession
