Tenchi Movies - Any chance of them being on Toonami?

    Like This Thread!
OK I've got all 3 tenchi movies on DVD andhave watched them in full. I feel they'd be a perfect and welcome break up of monotony in Toonami.

True there are a few parts that Turner won't like, i.e parts of tenchi in love with nudity and Ryoko's use of the word "*****" in Tenchi the Movie 2: Daughter of Darkness.

But knowing Turner they'll opt for more Dragonball series that NO ONE like any more. The "Longest running series" my ass. It's the longest running cause your milking it for all it's worth. You won't give any other series a chance cause DB/DBZ is your cash cow. I know about 12 shows that could possibly draw more money and popularity than that Stupid show

    Sorry bout that rant.

Well considering that the entire Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, and Tenchi in Tokyo series made it to Toonami with some hacks, the movies shouldn't have too much trouble. Daughter of Darkness would naturally get a lot of digital swim suits and language edits. Tenchi Forever would have a few scenes cut and some toning down to Ryoko's potty mouth. TMiL would recieve a few digital swimsuits and some language cuts and some scenes cut out. Other than all that I just mentioned, all three movies could make it to toonami. And considering there are all just a tiny bit longer than Endless Waltz, time edits wouldn't be necessary.

As for what Turner will do, I dunno. Maybe he has some sense in his head and maybe he just wants more gas money.

Or, maybe they could air on Adult Swim Action as a special every so often.

The first two could be shown after some editing. Unfortunately, I can't say I've seen "Tenchi Forever", so somebody else will have to make that call.

I think it could work. It beats more DBZ, that's for sure I have the first two movies and they really aren't that bad edit-wise, unless they see it necessary to edit the scene where Tenchi slaps Ryoko. Of course, there is the small nudity scenes and such, but those can be easily taken out. They handled the series, so the movies shouldn't be a problem.

Just where they would air them is the question.

Doesn't Sci-fi channel still own the rights to TMiL? CN could probably get TTM2: TDOD and Tenchi Forever. Daughter of Darkness would need the most digital painting for the bath scene. For once I would like to hear Ryoko say "*****" on CN.

Yeah the digital swimsuit in TDOD would kinda be a waste. The entire scene could be cut as it has very little to do with the story line. This is my opinion as I've already seen/own the film.

But there is one part in Tenchi Forever they'd absolutly have to cut out no matter what as it alludes to sex (even though, as far as I can discern, it doesn't happen)

The first Tenchi movie (TMiL), IMO is even better than the OVA series.

No allusion, my friend... Tenchi definitely does get some favors in Tenchi Forever. I mean, they even go so far as to show What'sherface nekkid on top of nekkid Tenchi. They're having sex.

Am I spoiling this movie for you? I don't care, because you shouldn't watch TF anyway. You ever wonder what would happen if a crappy fanfic got crappily animated and sold off as the real thing? I'm guessing it'd be something like TF. While it could certainly could be shown on CN with a couple of edits, I hope it doesn't, because it sucks! Stay away.

As for the other two movies... sure, maybe. There's a couple of bizarre incest-like-ish things that happen during crucial scenes that'd be hard to edit around in DoD, but I think they could do it.

And, from what I've heard, SciFi no longer owns the rights to TMiL.

But you just know that Toonami will get the rights to yet another DBZ movie they can rerun over and over again before they score the rights to these.

I would like to see the Tenchi movies on Toonami. Those DBZ movies are getting so old...I just recently watched all three movies and I liked them. The first one was the best I think and would require the least editing. I used to love DBZ, but after seeing those movies at least 5 times it really gets old....

I'd really like to see the movies on Toonami(I've already seen the first two), I just hope, if they do, they don't cut out too much stuff.
I mean in Tenchi Universe they had that thet picture of Ryoko flipping off the camera, and I think I heard her cuss a couple of times.

Also, I'm getting tired of them showing the DBZ series over and over. I've been watching it since it was on the WB, and I think that if they have to keep playing it, they should at least start from the beginning.

But what I really want to see is that new Tenchi Muyo series that I heard they were coming out with.

Well, the subject came up over at the EzBoard, and I believe that someone finally took the initiative, contacted SciFi, and got that answer (and I believe that someone was Fata Morgana (aka pandachan) who I don't think posts over here).

My mind could be seriously failing me, though. It does that sometimes.

[indent]If I remember correctly, someone was trying to contact SciFi, but they never got a distinct response. In the same thread someone else was claiming they had the answer, but they would never say where the information came from.

I was the one that mailed SciFi and I got back the ambiguous "We don't have any anime on right now but you never know - it could come back"-type response. I was trying to find the email item yesterday and I couldn't find it (didn't look all that hard).

They're intrested in all the the tenchi movies. It's not on the frequently asked questions on their website anymore but they still are.

[indent]Except for the breif shot of Tenchi's Mom's backside in Tenchi Muyo in Love what else would have to be edited from that one?
