    UK Toonami Legacy: Toonami UK

    Like This Thread!
With all this talk about Toonami in the US, I'm not suprised that the UK Toonami is getting as much attention as it's US counterpart. All that the UK Toonami shows these days is Dragon Ball Z, Tenchi Muyo, Batman Of The Future, Gundam Wing, X-Men: Evolution and The Real Adventures Of Johnny Quest. And that's about it really, all I am asking is that Cartoon Network US should bring more of their Toonami shows to the UK. But it looks like Toonami UK is not doing as well as it's US counterpart

You don't want Toonami US's shows.

Besides, Adult Swim is potentially doing something very very not smart in February that could kill Toonami US anyway, making your Toonami superior.

I find it funny how the UK always gets the short end of the stick, yet also doesn't (a TOM plushie for anyone who can figure out what I mean )

Whoops!, what I was trying to say was about the lack of shows on Toonami UK and why that is not a good thing

I'm sometimes interested to the UK counterpart of Toonami. I like seeing how their's is different (and occasionally better) than the US Toonami. Not to long ago they had a great line up with Batman, Batman Beyond, DBZ and Sailor Moon that was much better thasn whatever the US Toonami had.

Sailor Moon was never on the UK Toonami, shame too, because that means we never got to see the movies as well

I can't see why they wouldn't want MSG, 08th, 0080, Blue Sub, Big O, Dragonball, Outlaw Star, and Reboot. Hey, Matt. The world isn't over yet.

    Toonami UK vs USA

I was just checking out Toonami uk, @ Toonami UK and their LockDown doesn't start until May 13th. Do you think it will be diffrent from ours, i mean if they know whats going to happen it would kinda ruin the whole thing wouldn't it?

    Toonami UK-Why is it dead?

I've been wondering why CN UK decided to kill the Toonami block a few months ago. They still show some action shows but only 3- BeyBlade (no thanks), DragonBall Z (it's ok) and Justice League ( ). But they used to show much more- Batman Beyond, Gundam Wing, Tenchi, X-Men Evolution. Why did they decide to get rid of it? I was thinking it might be related to their one showing of Blue Submarine 6. They showed the entire series one Friday night about a year ago. It went on for hours, so I doubt many people watched it. Anybody else got any input?

Absolutely not true! Toonami is far from dead here!

I'm not sure why England Toonami was cancelled...If you want to know from the source, I would try E-mailing England CN, or mailing them...It's all i've got sorry.

Re: Toonami of United Kingdom is dead

Your probably right D.M., that Toonami of U.K. just might of not gotten enough viewers to watch the block, thus cancelling. Nem might have the reason for the cancellation of their Toonami block.

I wounder how Toonami of Japan, Australia, and France are doing?

Toonami Australia's doing very well, last I heard. Which is why they even adopted Adult Swim last winter.

I have 2 words to sum it up verry nicely,
    'Bey' and 'Blade'

And if the viewing figures were crud then why is DBZ still on?

Blue sub 6 kicked ass! i pesonaly doubt that caused it...

and as a last note thingy, they also had jhony quest.

DragonBall Z is obviously popular, hence why they still show it.

Gundam Wing probably did ok but not great, hence no more Gundam *is very thankful for US DVDs*

BS6 looked good from what I saw. But they showed it all in one go, which is alot to sit through

well, if Gundam wing fealed so misrably then why did they show endless waltz?

And besides, I think that the lack of anything but DBZ killed it.

Personaly i think that in the highly competitive world of uk anime.
(no im not joking), i think toonami would of sunk under the wiegt of Sci-fi's exelent (in anime content at least) Sekio-Exciting and Thursday night Animation

I meen come on people Neon Genisis Evangelion at 10:00am on a saturday, 8:00am on a Sunday. for cripes sake!

I didn't say that it did miserably. I said it probably did good but not great here. EW probably got aired because they knew that the GW fans would watch it and Bandai UK wanted to try and sell the EW toys and model kits. There's been discussion over at Gundam.com about why Gundam seems to have sadly failed here.
