One Piece character poll on 4Kids...

Not sure where to put this... But since it deals with One Piece (and is not a spoiler) I figured it can go here. Fell free to move it, though, if I'm wrong...

Here are the results...

Luffy -- 8.8%

Zolo (Zoro) -- 48.6%

Nami -- 13.3%

Usopp -- 2.6%

Sanji -- 16%

Chopper -- 10.7%

Poor Usopp... But given how he is in the dub... I'm not surprised. What I am surprised at, though, is how Luffy isn't even the top-liked character... Or even near it. In Japan's polls, he's always first. The kids sure like their Zoro/Zolo, though.

The only consolation here is that they voted for the best voiced character in the dub. Seriously, Marc Diraison's Zolo/Zoro is one of sole things that I like from that dub.

Luffy's Goku-esque, so of course he's popular in Japan. Kids in America like cool heroes, and swords > rubber-stretchy-thingys.

Zoro winning doesn't surprised me at all. Badasses of the show are usually only second (at most) to the main character. I personally rarely/never ever find a main character in a shonen my favorite, except Yusuke. But then again, that's because I relate to him. Hey, but it's funny as hell that the doctor and navigator outrank the damn captain. Can understand Chopper, but Nami is kinda strange in my book.

Nami is bugging me the most in this poll because:

1) 4Kids hasn't got to any point in the show yet where she shines.
2) Any fan service or humor that makes her likeable has been cut.
3) Again we haven't see her really fight yet.
4) Why is she so damn popular now compared to Luffy you stupid children?

I think it has been proven that American Children, despite the whole "Soccer Moms trying the sheild their children from anything" buisness, seem to be getting interest in female chests earlier and earlier in life.
