Toonami and Digital Swimsuits, they'll never part.

I'm watching Tenchi now, and those swimsuits get on my nerves every time I see them. I can understand why the digital swimsuits are put there. But what does it do? They're frelling skin tight! Ryoko and Aeka might as well be naked, no difference. To make it worse, in one scene both have their swimsuits on. But in a matter of seconds the swimsuits are off and the're washing themselves. Do the swimsuits have to be that bad?

They could make it a little less obvious that they put the swimsuits there. Toonami and digital swimsuits, they shall never part.

A couple of people that I know from the AIC boards said that the digital suits ruined the whole "Tenchi Experience." I have to admit though, Tenchi does have a couple of ermmm........ adult situations and jokes.

Let's try this everytime you see the Hot Spring in Muyo or the Girls "Bathroom" in Universe Ryoko is always naked that's why she has a swimsuit on and the other girls have towels on but then when Mihoshi and/or Kiyone show up they have towels but they have bikini straps on.

Now what's with that!?!?!?!?!?!

[indent]We wouldn't even see some of these shows if it wasn't for digital swimsuit technology. You generally won't see nudity on any nonpay TV channel that isn't rated TV-MA. Also, Tenchi was their first attempt at digital swimsuit technology, it is likely to improve as they get more experience with it.

I don't mind the digital swimsuits. After all, they could have cut the scenes totally, or even the entire episode, like with Outlaw Star.

Then an episode of Sailor Moon S
Then Outlaw Star (although why can't they put it on Aisha and Suzuka in that Hot Springs episode rather then remove the entire episode from the lineup)

Then Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
Then Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim...

Sheesh!

Why can't they do the same for Dexter and the Mayor of Townsville?

Anime doesn't show genetilia, neither does western. That doesn't mean there won't be plenty of naked jokes to go around.

But anyway, My only real gripe with the digital swimsuits is that it doesn't make any sense in some scenes. OH MY GOD DON"T LOOK AT ME I'M WEARING A SWIMSUIT AAAAA YOU'RE A PERVERT!!!!

Sometime they don't even NEED tp use the digital swimsuits. Quite often there aren't any features, anyway. It's like censoring a Barbie doll.

It's all about time and money. Either they stretch thier budget or they stretch their bathing suits. Besides, I like the tight look.

I don't get why they didn't air the Hot Springs episode of Outlaw Star. All the had to do was fix some suggestive lines and put digital bathing suits on Suzuka and Aisha. They could've aired it easy.

Or maybe they just couldn't think of a creative enough way to get around the whole "dirty movie" sub-plot.
