    ReBoot Season 5

    Like This Thread!
Before Jeff disappeared a while back, we were talking about the new "ReBoot" season. We're both very impressed with the new season. However, I was wondering if Cartoon Network would order a fifth season of the series, especially how season 4 ended. Jeff responded by saying that he had heard from people at Cartoon Network that another movie had been ordered and was scheduled to premiere in the Spring/Summer of 2002. Since I hadn't got this confirmed from anyone at CN, I didn't post anything on it.

However, assuming there is a fifth season, what would you guys like to see in the new season?

CN originally intended to air the "My Two Bobs" arc in Febuary, but Mainframe finished early so they decided to air everything at once. That was probably what Jeff was talking about.

Mainframe currently isn't working (very much) on a new season, and hasn't announced that anybody has ordered episodes yet, but somebody hinted that something "good" was going to happen this spring. Apparently, there's a little pre-production going on now, but I think it's just demo stuff to try to get more eps ordered. Either way, I'm guessing it would take longer than two months go put out a new season. It's possible that CN, or somebody else, is considering it. (Also, I believe Toonzone reported that one of the bidders for Fox Kids was Mainframe, am I right?)

As for a new season, I'd like to see some more rendering effects. I mean really, they can use transparent textures, but they only use them on Andraia and Matrix? (Well, teenage Dot too.......) If they used them on all the characters, and more of them too, the graphics could be as good as those in Shrek, especially with their new facial expression system.

Actually, he said they had been working on it during the summer, although, I thought he was initally confused about that, until I saw the conclusion of "My Two Bobs." He could have been misinformed or misunderstood, but it's something that definitely intrigued me.

Yes, you are correct. Mainframe could take-over the block, however, I don't think they'd have enough money when binning, compared to Nickelodeon (subsidary of Viacom), AOLTW, Disney and Nelvana.

[indent]I'd just like to be as awesome as Season 4! It would be cool though if they brought Ray Tracer back (as long as they had a good reason to use him).

I'd agree with you except for one MAJOR detail. The rental fee is a flat rate and has already been announced. Sure, Fox cares about money, but I don't think they want their assets in the hands of another network. Until we're sure of Fox's intentions, none of us can really say who will get it. But one thing's for sure. He who has the biggest pocketbook is not necessarily the winner here.

I've also talked with Matt, who's come to the conclusion that Mainframe may be using the Fox situation to sell their shows to either the winner or the loser. So it's possible we'll be seeing more action from their company whether or not they win.

On the other issue, Mainframe originally wanted season 4 to be longer than season 3. But the networks didn't order enough episodes. The stories are already planned out, and it wouldn't surprise me if the scripts, character designs, etc are all ready to go. They just need the funding to proceed, and it seems that somewhere in this jumble of network dealings, they're hoping to get it.

    New season yea!

I would love it if CN would subscribe to a new season of reboot. The last season did do well and i belive there is fan demand there. However I did get the impression that CN dislike ReBoot for some reason...Could this be because we accually like it? ::GASP!::

From long and hard research, I'm 80% sure that Reboot's 5th season will be at Nickelodeon, as part of Totally Twisted Telly.

That's probably why it left CN so quickly. CN gets sore about things like that.

Nickelodeon is also the most likely to pick up Fox Kids. If Fox is gonna lose to Kids WB, they'd rather hand it to someone that would..well.. be a competitor to Kids WB.

The problem is that though 4Kids would be a great pick, they don't have enough shows to cover a whole block, nor would they have the money to afford it all.

That's why I place the bet in Nick's hands.

For the record, Reboot already airs on Nick Australia's Totally Twisted Telly.

Matt, are you serious? @_@ Nickelodean. . . that doesn't sound like a change for the better. Ugh, the mystery of this whole thing is killing me. Why would MFE want ReBoot to air on Nickelodean? They'd never get away with some of the adult inuendo on Nick! Maybe it's thier way of getting enough exposure to both keep going and get an uncut DVD release. Man-o-man. Well, anyway, it means more ReBoot, and that's a good thing.

Nickeloden doesn't seem a likley company to pick up reboot, atleast from my point of view over here in america. Nick usually focuses on Their own "nicktoons" not outside cartoons.

If you've ever seen Ren and Stimpy or Round House(on Nick) then you know that you can INDEED get away with the same Inuendo on Nickelodeon. Theirs nothing to worry about, truth be told Nick is really loose, it's just that they have a bad image.

I used to like nick, but they have tried to change to get teens to watch...and failed miserably.

Unfortunetly if nick did get reboot, i would still think bad of it, no matter the image. Toonami creates a nice image for the show..theme wise, and i like toonami. Nick has a happy go lucky kinda theme to it, and it's not exsacly what most teens want to see...

Um, Ren and Stimpy is a horrible example, because Nick edited it to death. O_o Besides, lots of the innuendo that would be considered objectionable on ReBoot is highly sexual, and I don't ever recall sexual innundo on either Ren or Invader Zim. However, if I end up being wrong, I'll be the first one to admit it (gleefully, in fact. ^_^)
