    Because . . . I don't like months with the letter R in them?

Not buying that excuse, eh? Well, I don't have an answer for you. Stuff happens in May. Spring is nearly over, and the seasons begins to change yet again.

Allas I wont be home until 2:30PM or later Pacific time and I start work at 8AM. So I'll have to wait a while before seeing what actually is annouced and making commentary. So if you are wondering why I'm not saying anything its well... because I'm not near a computer.
And you will make some noise. I can guarantee it.

Also, I am curious why Black Cat is on your list. I know Viz has the manga and franchise under lock and key, and I know it has this Browncoat-esque moral ambiguity that made Outlaw such a star and Firefly soar through the night. Plus, it's still fairly fresh in the land of the Rising Sun. Do you think Toonami would be so bold and bring a short, yet fresh series to the block?

If BECK wasn't FUNi's worst kept secret then Black Cat would be. But they put a C&D on a fansub group because of Black Cat so... take that as you will. Also it's a Gonzo and FUNimation pretty much sleeps with Gonzo these days. Why they'd have it this early is beyond me but apparently they might.

You know more than you are telling me don't you. Now that's some torture. I'll be making noise eh? I hope it'll be good noise. But you know me, if it's something I think is lame... I'll let you all know it. But I'll try to constrain myself. No more emo ninja for me.

    ...

    Full Disclosure-
I bet we see Teen Titans Tokyo make a Toonami premiere.

Outside of that, nothing new was announced. Stuff is being made and acquired, they just didn't share.

More than likely, that means the contracts aren't fully signed yet. We'll probably here more about that stuff come late Spring, early Summer.

Edit: Yea, pretty much the only Toonami-esque announcement was that CN is going to air the Teen Titans DTV, and that wasn't even mentioned as Toonami, but as part of the general "CN Movies" release.

To say I'm disappointed that Cartoon Network weren't fully prepared for class is an understatement. I mean, maybe the dog really did eat their homework, that is to say, the ink hasn't been dried on the distribution deals with the anime titles they're going to air. Still, they DO have homegrown stuff coming too that could have easily been announced (and they were: Legion of Super Heroes is a go, and Fantastic Four, not totally homegrown, is also announced). .

But what will be said at the evening upfronts?

    Stay tuned.

    ...

I will say, with full honesty...

I LOVE HOW CN IS MAKING A MOVIE, PURELY BASED ON THE RUMOR THAT WALT DISNEY'S HEAD IS CRYOGENICALLY FROZEN.

    That = win.

Okay, additional news. Yeah, more confirmation that Fantastic 4 is coming to the network, along with some iteration of the Legion Of Superheroes (Supposedly a card said "Superboy and the...", while the comic and another rumored title was "Supergirl and the...")

Seeing how I'm not a DC fan, I'm pretty dissapointed.

So, there's another one this evening right? Are any Toonami/ASA announcments going to be at that one.

I'm curious about the new episodes of One Piece. Maybe they will be dubbed and edited for a Toonami content level.

Well, there is SOME new stuff. IGPX Season 2 begins May 13th. Also, CN has already acquired "Ultimate Avengers 2" and "Iron Man."

It feels so weird to have Marvel on Toonami.

    That's good about IGXP.

Though I don't care for the Marvel & DC shows, good for those who do. Guess I'll just have to wait to see what anime (cause that's all I care about) the network gets.

Okay, time to break down a few things:

    What's been officially announced:

    - The Legion of Super Heroes
    - Fantastic Four (though they didn't explicitly say where it's going to air, although the series is 26 episodes in its first season)

    What's been officially renewed:

    - Naruto
    - Zatch Bell
    - One Piece
    - Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo

    What's officially returning:

    - Transformers: Cybertron
    - The Batman
    - IGPX

    What's officially over:

    - Justice League Unlimited
    - Teen Titans (though the movie is coming this year)

    Fate TBD:

    - Duel Masters

    Movies to come:

    - Teen Titans Tokyo
    - Ultimate Avengers 2
    - Iron Man
    - Spider-Man (yeah, THAT Spider-Man)

Now, considering that at least three hours of the four hour block is pretty much locked up for the year, what will make up the final hour of Toonami? Well, the ink's not quite dry, and they're not ready for primetime, which is sad because the whole purpose of the upfronts is to tell the world "Ooh! Look what I have! Ain't it purdy?" I mean, last year's big reactions for the entire Cartoon Network lineup were from the Toonami acquisitions of Naruto and Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo as well as the announcement of IGPX: The Series. Today . . . not so much hoopla, and the otaku element is feeling flushed because they haven't heard neither hide nor hair of any new Toonami-bound anime that they can whine about coming to Toonami and being hacked to death. So, what are they going to be complaining about for the next couple of weeks?

Why Cartoon Network didn't announce ANY new anime titles, and boy, will they become indignant.

So, in the meantime, I'm taking all of this in and just watching to see what plays out and watching the reactions from all with a bag of popcorn by my side.
