Dream Toonami Line-Up

OK, Inspired by the poll on all of Toonami's faults, I thought I'd start a thread on what people think Toonami's dream line-up would be.

The Rules are :
1) It's two hours, you don't get to make the fun 10 hour toonami you want.
2) Shows that are suitable for the time slot. No Ranma.
3) Give reasons...(Although I like that show IS a reason..so...)

Anyway, I'm just curious as to what people think.

Current Series

Zoids- The little show that could... it may be toyetic... but so were GI Joe and Transformers.

Tenchi- All three series (Muyo!, Universe, Tokyo) were entertaining, however Muyo! is my personal favorite.

MSG- At least to have a complete airing, also because its a great series that I want to see the end to.

Reboot- Fun series, fan-favorite, that and it'd be the only show that isn't Anime.

My Dream Schedule

GI Joe- A blast from the past, one of my favorites as a kid. Would fit very well, especially considering how its about Americans beating up Terrorists. Watch the intro to GI Joe the movie and tell me you didn't feel patriotic

The Tick - It's got action, but mainly comedy. One of the funniest TV series ever made. Someone, please make so Tick DVD's!

Escaflowne - Great from what I've seen. I'd like to see it on TV, especially since Netflix only has volumes 1-4.

Transformers- G1 and Beastwars, (Not G2... stupid cube). Do I really have to explain why?

Why these choices? The first list is based on what I think that CN can get _now_, without much/any problem (or what they have already) and what they're willing to show. As far as I recall, MKR doesn't have very much to edit, and it's an OK series. Big O and ReBoot are series that I like a lot. I hate DBZ, but I'm sure that as long as Toonami endures, DBZ will be need to be there (groan).

The second list is based on stuff that I'd just love to see on TV. They also reflect a diversity that I think Toonami should have more of. Only _one_ of the series is an anime. One is French, one is Canadian, and one is US of A. A good mix. Now, like I mention, I've never seen Star Pilot Molly, it could be utterly awful. But it looks cool.

And anyway, I'd like to see something new. The Maxx, of course, is probably too adult for Toonami. I guess I would replace it with The Tick, if need be.

My first post at the new Toonami board!

hmm... my Dream line up would include the following:

1. Sailor Moon- Why? because I miss seeing the first two seasons of this show. Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon Super S did not really appeal to me but I would not mind seeing it again.

2. Tenchi- Because it is one of my favorite shows and it has enough episodes to not get annoying with repeats.

3. Nadesico- Because I want to see it.

4. Gundam Wing- Because I have not seen it for quite awhile now and I would like to see it again.

hear me out:
First thing hy gotta do is use that digital bikini technology from Tenchi and give all the characters Petticoats.
Next, Re-write the script so that they talk about poetry and politics and love
Then, give them all bipolar disorder to justify the violence. I.E. Goku doesn't like Vegeta's views on Socrates Repulic*, so he punches him in the gut, petticoat streaming behind.
*I can't remember if its socrates or sophocles, or whoever. Don't bite my head off
Lastly, give them all late 1700's, shakespearian accents.

Well, it's not exactly a dream lineup, but I might watch for 5 minutes until something else, preferrably shiny or fast moving, catches my attention.

I'd love to see "Escaflowne" on Toonami too. I hope FOX doesn't still own the rights to the show. Hopefully after the block gets sold-off, the rights to the shows revert back to their respective companies.

I also would love to see another season of "ReBoot" - one of the most underrated shows on television.

My dream line up:

Tenchi- In my opinion, this is one of the coolest shows on Toonami
Gundam Wing- I just like the show

Escaflowne- I never had the chance to see the whole series

What I'd love to see Toonami get is the original "Gargoyles" animated series. If they could somehow get the rights to air the show from Disney, that would be awesome. Toon Disney (which I don't have) currently airs "Gargoyles" in primetime, but I heard the show was edited. Just imagine the promos Toonami would make for the show.

NO DragonBall Z!!! That show (and all its subsequent seasons) merits a time slot all by itself.

5:00 P.M.: One (1) magical girl series (e.g. Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth, CardCaptor Sakura, or the Tenchi SM parody Magical Girl Pretty Sammy)
5:30 P.M.: One (1) Gundam series (e.g. Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Wing, everything else in between)
6:00 P.M.: One (1) classic anime series (e.g. Galaxy Express 999, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Star Blazers, G-Force/Battle of the Planets)
6:30 P.M.: One (1) show from the DC Universe (BTAS, STAS, Justice League, Batman Beyond)

Midnight Run:
12:00 M:

1)Outlaw Star--UNCUT and UNCENSORED
2)One (1) Gundam series--UNCUT

Toonami Reactor: The Series
1:00 P: Record of Lodoss War
1:30 P: Harlock Series
2:00 P: Star Blazers
2:30 P: Patlabor

The Reactor series would give those people who have neither Broadband or Internet or even a home computer a chance to check out one of Cartoon Network's cooler websites.

Only 2 hours?! This is going to be hard. I shall invoke show rotation! Each half hour ends up with 300+ episodes for extreme lack of repeating.

5 (4 Central) - Something for the ladies (or however Moltar used to put it) - Tenchi ends up in here due to the limited space and since Pretty Sammy fits best here.

Sailor Moon/ Tenchi/ Pretty Sammy/ Magic Night Whatever It's Called/ Card Captor Sakura/ etc.

5.5 - Heroes - A lot of the darker stuff, plus Supes and the League.

Batman/ Superman/ Batman Beyond/ Justice League/ Samurai Jack/ X-Men/ Spiderman/ Gargoyles/ Gargoyles 2198/ etc.

6 - Dragonball - I personnally love it, plus it brings a lot of fans to the block who will then discover the other shows. There are eventually enough episodes also that it takes a long time to repeat.

Dragonball/ Z/ GT

6.5 - Robot/Space/Vehicle stuff - Reboot is included here since I didn't know where else to put it.

Gundam (all)/ Big O/ Reboot/ Robotech/ Zoids/ Outlaw Star/ I know I am forgetting a lot of stuff/ Molly: Star Pilot/ etc.

I am completely digging the Molly: Star Pilot trailer also. I can't stop watching it! I wonder if Williams St. know about it?

As for Gargoyles, what is showing on Toon Disney is edited. It would be awesome if Toonami could get ahold of it. Plus, if somebody would fund more episodes Greg Weisman has plenty of ideas for continuation and 5 spinoffs!

a Sailor Moon type show like Sailor Moon or Magic Knight Rayearth.
a Sunrise giant robot show like GaoGaiGar, Exkizer, GEAR Senshi Dendoh, Brave Police J-Decker.
a classic 80's or 90's show like GI Joe, Transformers, He-man, She-ra, M.A.S.K., Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Exosquad, or something of that nature.
of course the obligatory DBZ.

Problem is there's no time for Gundam (unless you include that in the Sunrise robot category), Batman/Superman. I'm trying not to make it all anime

How about the actual Toonami run-time? 3-5 on Kids', 5-7 on CN, 12-1 on CN, and 1-3 on CN Saturdays?

3.0- X-Men: Evolution/ The Zeta Project/ Static Shock
3.5- Cardcaptors
4.0- Pokémon (Starting with "The Road to Indigo" to "Johto League Champions")

5PM - 7 PM, Monday - Thursday, on Cartoon Network
5.0- Dragonball/ Dragonball Z/ Dragonball GT (New episodes go here)
5.5- Tenchi Muyo!/ Tenchi Universe/ Tenchi In Tokyo

Welcome Fayina, I hope you like it here. Now anyway, back to your post, I do agree that there should be some show to appeal to females like "Sailor Moon" or a newer series. I knew several girls who were big into anime. They used to watch Toonami often, but haven't for a while now.
