Toonami Legacy: Toonami Reactor

Who else is excited at the return of Reactor? Probably a stupid question I bet. So what anime are you looking most forward to? I can't wait to see Records of Lodoss War!!!! I have been waiting forever for Toonami to bring this over, so Reactor will have to do.

Just finished watching Episode 1 of "Record of Lodoss War" on the Toonami Reactor site. I enjoyed every minute of it! And they showed everything that I want to see when I'm watching an anime--from the opening theme song to the split-screen sequences (I just knew Samurai Jack isn't the only cartoon show to use this technique!) And I just loved the "Welcome to Lodoss Island" omake where all the characters look like cute little kids (super-deformed, I think it's called). Can't wait to see Episode 2!

BTW, I also sampled "Star Blazers 2." Loved the show, hated the opening theme song (it is soooooo schmucky-sounding!)

Has anyone else accessed it yet? What do you think of it?

I am so delireously happy that they finally got Lodoss War!! I have been waiting for so long for someone to bring it over! I love this anime, being one of few fantasy based generes that I've seen!

I guess I'm finding this topic a little late...

I love Record of Lodoss War! I don't have to worry about watching it on Toonami's Reactor, though, since our Blockbuster has the whole series and I've already seen it. But what I wish they had put on there was the OAV instead of the TV series "Chronicles of the Heroic Knight." I hear the OAV is better than the TV series and Blockbuster doesn't have it.

The OVA is different. The TV show and the OVA have no real connection, as the TV show starts off by reintroducing characters in the OVA and has plot developments that are totally different. Most people consider the OVA to be a bit better, although the TV show is still good. The animation quality is better in the OVA, though, and the dubbing job is also better.

Still, I'm glad that Toonami fans are finally getting to see Record of Lodoss War, even if it's only on Reactor. I'm having trouble finding time to watch all the episodes, myself.....

Well I heard a rumor from a pretty reliable source that not only more episodes of Record of Lodoss War are coming up, but they also plan on airing Mobile Suit Gudam. Reactor is a great idea. Yeah, some people have problems, but I think its an awesome free service....I mean what other channel would do this for you?

I have only watched the first episode of Record of Lodoss Wars off of the reactor but I really did enjoy it. I will probably be watching more of the episodes soon because the stories was pretty interesting. I think it would be great if Record of Lodoss Wars (both the OAV and the TV series) appeared on Toonami. I mean I am glad I get to watch the episodes off of the reactor, but I know I would enjoy watching it much more on my TV sitting on my nice comfortable couch.

I watched the first three on reactor and I think it's okay. I would be a great show for Toonami. If they ever do show it on Toonami, then they HAVE to use that opening. If they can't do it, then AT LEAST use it on the first episode. It's my all-time favorite opening. ^^

I think Lodoss deserves a slot on Toonami, maybe if they get the 4:00-5:00 slot back they will have room. It is at least better than Batman Beyond =\.

Try this: go into your Real Player preferences and then click the "content" tab. Make sure "enable automatic links" is checked.

I think that's how I got it to work for me.

Okay... I have a horrible 56k modem, so bear with me, you DSL and Cable users. Does Reactor stream the video, or do you download the episodes? And...are the reactor shows edited or not?

They're steaming video. And no, you can't download them, unfortunately.

I can't tell if they're edited or not, since I haven't seen the original, and there isn't anything that was glaringly obvious. But they did say "damn" once, though...

Hmmm. It may be the same case with this as it was with Outlaw Star. The editors occasoinally let a "damn" or "hell" slip. But then again, the only ads I've seen for it were on Adult Swim...
