    The worst Toonami year ever

    Like This Thread!
Think about it, too much DBZ, the cancellation of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, the 4:00 pm hour RIP, Kids' WB's version of Toonami, Cardcaptors, the list goes on and on.

This has to be... the worst year for Toonami ever! What the hell is going on here?!?

Personally, the only show I was looking too on Toonami these days is Outlaw Star. My only other CN Anime fix is Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim.

    What do you think?

I don't mind it, either, but I'd rather watch the original subtitled version, CardCaptor Sakura. The theme music was catchy, and there was a little omake with Kero called "Leave it to Kero," where he (she?) described something like the costumes Sakura wore in the episode that had just been shown. And Kero speaks with an Osaka dialect (the equivalent of our Southern drawl, y'all!)

Also, there's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much DBZ; I miss the 4pm
hour (badly!), and you can't exactly book a Kids' WB lineup with "Pokemon" and "Jackie Chan Adventures" and call it "Toonami."

My vote for the wrost of Toonami has to go to the DBZ blocks. This is like the Scooby Doo of Toonami. Why do they have to air it to death? I like the other shows, you know!

This wasm without a doubt the worst year the block had. The crushing blow was losing an hour so it doesn't compete with KWN. Gimme a friggin' break. That and the ALL DBZ/DB HOURS. Ugh!

Yes, the DBZ hours are pretty bad, especialy it being the dubbed version. But losing a great show like Mobile Suit Gundam was the worst thing that happened, that and losing Robotech way back when.

My vote goes for running DB/Z to death. Never did like that show...

Why did they overdo DBZ? Were they trying to burn out episodes, or just airing shows ad nauseum just to air them?

    That's easy as cake...

When it was cut from 3 hours to 2 ("The end of the 4pm hour"). I hope to Heaven that someone got canned for that mistake.

Thank God that "Tenchi" is returning on Monday (at 5pm). And I liked the ads for "Tenchi"; it doesn't matter which aspect of the show was being played up.

I definitely didn't like the DB/Z Toonami block and stopped watching Toonami after that. I only occassionally watch "Batman Beyond," which is a great addition to Toonami. I'm also pretty concerned about the Kids' WB! version of Toonami. They're adding "Scooby-Doo" to it in a few weeks? Are they nuts? What does Toonami mean now?

Someone really ought to edit the poll to allow for multiple choices...there are too many reasons!!

I voted for KWB Toonami, cause that's just trying to cash in on the name...

DBZ/DB is overaired...cause it gets the highest ratings. I don't like it, you don't like it...but the advertisers love it. I wish they'd cut back on the DBZ and air more DB...I liked DB..the few eps I got to see.

CCS..well, yeah the dub stunk, but if that's all ya got...

    Loosing the 1st hour....
I see why the did it...
Here in the Central Time Zone (cause I'm to lazy to add hours)
I watch KWB from 2pm till 4pm, then switch over to Toonami on CN from 4pm till 6...There's no overlap and they keep viewers that way...it makes a whole lot of sense from a programing point of view.

Zoids is a sorta ok show...I like it better than a number of KWB shows...but not as much as other Toonami shows (which are no more)

I'm not sorry to see Sailor Moon go.,...but only cause they re-air the show ad nausium. Which is part of my problem with DBZ. ARG!

If only I could vote more than once...

Just about all of the choices were good reasons. But...

    TOO MUCH DBZ!!!!

I think another blunder for Toonami this year is the lack of cross promotion. Granted botht he CN and KWB block have the same name...but that's it. There should be a promo at the end of the KWB block telling viewers to go to the CN Toonami block. Missed oppurtunity there.

My anger towards Toonami is torn between the incessent airings of DBZ and their cancellation of Mobile Suit Gundam. I've never liked DBZ, and it just keeps getting worse, but cancelling Mobile Suit Gundam was just the lowest thing Toonami could've done. I still don't see why they had to do it, I mean, it seemed like it was doing well.

There's just too much DBZ. I haven't watched Toonami in months because of it. I'm just glad that Tenchi is back on.

I voted for the all DBZ. I like DB, so I didn't vote against the mainly DB/Z option. And I've missed DB eps a lot, so I don't mind reruns of it.

My choice is that Toonami's shows are extremly edited...oh, wait, that is not a choice?

Than I guess I'll vote for the overkill of DBZ episode.

The DB/DBZ overload was bad, but it was worsened by the loss of the first hour. That killed the diversity that had been Toonami's hallmark: action, shojo, romantic comedy, martial arts, giant robots, anime, superheroes, etc. Toonami might be an "action" block, but, prior to the lost hour, it was a diverse action block.

They should air Yu-Gi-Oh instead of Scooby, or keep X-men Evolution. They could just double run both Pokemon and Jackie Chan. And get rid of Rescue Heroes GRT.

At least KWB is airing Pokemon: The Legend begins IN COMPLETE EPISODE ORDER (except 52 and 53, 4Kids fault for holding those episodes over to season 2 and the two specials which was TV Tokyo's fault for banning the series for 4-5 months)
I hope they will air "Tentacool and Tentacruel"

One advantage KWB Toonami has over CN Toonami, they show the shows actual opening.

One advantage CN toonami has over KWB Toonami they show the ending without commercials covering half the screen and the music.
