If you do get Seed, tell everyone you know to watch it. It slows down a bit toward the beginning, but it's a great watch.
Interesting rumblings being discussed here http://forums.gundamofficial.com/showthread.php?t=4818 Apparently Bandai are looking to give Gundam in Europe another go and they'll be starting with SEED. The merchandise push will include some of the planned US figures which never saw the light of day, such as Battle Scarred Astray Red Frame. The date for this seems to be autumn, as is the usual for building hype for Christmas.
(NOTE- PLEASE don't let this turn into yet another UK moaning thread)

The first 2 dvds are out next week.

It would be good if it's airing on that new Jetix station in the UK, but if Toonami UK gets it, you'd better start praying that it's not the CN version. That would be just senseless.
I'm glad to see that Sunrise is looking at markets beyond the US, though. I think it has a lot more potential in the UK right now.

It would be nice to see Seed on a tv, I have to say. I've got my first 2 dvd's ordered. I am optimistic about the prospects of the newer Gundam series in the UK. (As for UC, I'm not sure if they will be accepted by the mainstream, because some may think the earlier series dated, and you need the older series to understand the later, to a certain extent.) At the end of the day, any Gundam here is great, at least in my opinion.
This is good news!

I think they're taking the best strategy with UC- keep it to DVD. UC is really just too dated and lacks the cultural connection to work on a large scale in the West. I hope SEED catches on, even though I'll likely be at university when it starts airing and so unable to watch it myself.
Great, we good do an anime on Toonami that dosen't start with "Dragonball" or "Pokemon"
I probablly still won't watch it though, I tend to only watch stuff with contuiunty when I get it on DVD
I would but none of my friends dig giant robots the way I doIf you do get Seed, tell everyone you know to watch it. It slows down a bit toward the beginning, but it's a great watch.
I'd say watch it or we could see Gundam's second chance go down. I'm not saying watch something you don't like, but if the ratings aren't there then they probably won't see a reason to continue. Makes me sad I probably won't get to see it. I also already invested in the US DVDs, so not much point buying the UK ones. Toy sales are where the real money is though, so I'll make it up to em with thatOriginally Posted by Matt-a-Tastic
Since the US folks do it enough, anyone wanna take a stab at thinking up a potential UK promo for the show?
Did you guys ever get the "suit up" tagline? If so then they could use "suit up again". Otherwise I'm kinda at a loss. I've never been much good with Gundam promos.Originally Posted by HellCat

We had a few promos but I don't think they used that tagline. Shame no one caught them on tape. I can say one thing though- we've never used "Only Toonami" in our promos. I think one of the Wing ones actually had new lines by Relena's VA.Originally Posted by Sketch
They might just port over "Reap what you sow", which is an excellent tagline.
As for the SEED boxset, no word has been given at all.
No to both, I believe. US Volume 1 is available with an optional art box.Originally Posted by Matt-a-Tastic

I guess its a good thing anyway as I would of probally just bought the first volume before buying the box anyway.
By a few years how long do you mean? Like a decade? I imagine the re-release would be on blu-ray or HD-DVD..
Knowning beez there will be an Art Box with the final volume of the UK release of SEED

I doubt we'll see a Wing or MSG re-release. The ones coming out now are just boxsets of the available seperately One Year War OVAs. Wing already has a healthy boxset and no one's going to buy an MSG boxset really unless it had the Japanese track. Though we might see a SEED set as one of those limited edition Christmas boxsets. Throw in Freedom and Pink-chan pin badges and ya set.Originally Posted by Matt-a-Tastic
