CN isn't going to put Toonami back on weekdays because it doesn't work as a 6-11 block and Miguzi is doing great.
So how about they put some of Toonami's choice programing on TNT for an afternoon block. Maybe they wouldn't call it Toonami but just have some of great action shows and animes that are wasting away at a once a week slot on CN (or aren't even on period).
04:00 - Dragonball Z
04:30 - Yu Yu Hakusho
05:00 - Rurouni Kenshin
05:30 - Gundam SEED / Cyborg 009
06:00 - Samurai Jack
06:30 - Justice League
And while there at it they could do an encore of FMA and GitS (plus a single run of Cowboy Bebop and one other popular AS anime on Friday nights like TBS airs/aired some Adult Swim comedies (but not as Adult Swim).
I'm not exactly sure the demographic TNT goes for but it is probably just adults. But if they have a 12-24 demo as well then the shall we say... "more mature" Toonami shows could work and Adult Swim's shows certainly could.

TNT is dedicated to “DRAMA”. Their afternoon lineup is rife with syndicated network dramas, ER, Law and Order, NYPD Blue, Judging Amy, etc. Considering that fact it would seem to me that TNT isn’t interested in 6-11 or 12-17 (or whatever other relevant demo) demographics and certainly not animation. Toonami or more precisely the type of material Toonami has to offer just doesn’t fit with their current M.O.
TBS seems more likey to do something like that.
Yeah they are but TBS is comedy. I remember when TBS aired HB cartoons and Cartoon Planet. Hmm... actually didn't The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest air on TNT?
But yeah it's just a more crazy idea than usual.
It would be better to make a general action channel. I feel it's pointless to make "Miguzi" part of it. Other than the channel would obviously have Teen Titans and most likely Totally Spies. But they'd just be part of the general programing. There probably wouldn't be blocks period.

TNT used to show a lot of cartoons, for a few hours each morning and evening (mainly lots of classics: Bugs Bunny, Pink Panther, etc). When The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest premiered it was on both CN and TNT. Dexter's Lab aired on Saturday afternoons on TNT as well (Both shows were part of Rudy and Gogo's World Famous Cartoon Show). That's actually how I saw those shows back in the day since my cable company didn't carry Cartoon Network back them. However, as Cartoon Network became available in more and more households, and as TNT was rebranded as a drama network, cartoons largely disappeared from the channel.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei
TNT only targets 18-49 adults now anyway. You're really reaching.
So in other words there isn't a single Warner owned cable network that gives a rats hiney about the 12-17 demographic. Viacom has multiple channels for that crowd. You'd think Warner could at least a block for that demo (not neccesarily Toonami).

What besides MTV? The N? That channel's been sitting still not progressing at all.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei

The N hasn't been progressing, that indeed is true. But the ratings are pretty good according to media life magazine (online).
Nickelodeon has more teen offerings than CN and it's practically all tween offerings. Of course those shows are awful but CN should try a teen block anyway.

Viacom may have more MTV and spinoffs, but they do a very poor job with anime.
I thought that article was about the pretty good ratings for the Noggin side of the network.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei

I thought it said something about the N as well. But honestly I didn't read it thoroughly. Reguardless... it's not going anywhere so that's successful enough.
This is true but they tend to want both kids and tweens much more than CN does. Toonami is CN's main tween strategy. Nick has S.N.I.C.K., Teen Nick, and certain prime time offerings. Nick's prime time is tween heavy programing compared to CN's. Teen Titan's being the only truely tween show in prime time adn the rest being focused mostly on the 6-11 crowd (and TT is also doing great with 6-11).
CN's shows are better but Nick at least shows some interest in teenagers with "Teen Nick". CN likes to take a lot of pages from Nick's book so why not the Teen Block as well?

S.N.I.C.K. (that's still around?) and Teen Nick still don't add up to that much programming hours-wise. Plus, how tween and teen respectively are they really? SNICK features All Grown Up and the "Teen" Nick lineup looks like stuff you definitely would not want on a Teen block, it looks tween at best. As for primetime offerings, considering Teen Titans is CN's highest rated tween show and it is on Primetime, I don't see any more tween/teen stuff on Nick than CN during the week. (and I bet Static Shock pulls in pretty good tween numbers as well).Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei
Are we talking about the higher profile channels or the break even/money sucker spinoff channels? MTV's other channels have so far just been to store extra stuff (and play a wee bit of anime).Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei
But Nickelodeon never reports any 12-17 ratings. If anything, their blocks that shift towards an older audience target the same 9-14 group Toonami targets.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei

I'm clearly not getting anywhere with this. So I'll get down to the most basic of facts. Viacom has at least one channel than targets 12-17 and teenagers in general (this would be MTV). Warner doesn't even have a block that targets teens and only 4 hours a week that target 9-14 specifically. Warner should have something that specifically targets teens. Not Toonami and not Adult Swim but something.

I wouldn't mind watching Toonami on other Turner channels such as: TBS, TNT, or Turner South. As long it's the still feels the same as its shown on CN. The last time when Toonami was shown on another network other than CN, it was on Kids WB, which didn't look or feel like Toonami.

TNT already has programing that targets teens its called NBA. You cant say more teens watch sports than anything else on TV.
Howabout ASA on TNT? (with uncut YYH for Toonami fans)
Naaaaaaaaaah
Actually, they were talking about the show Degrassi: TNG getting good 12-17 ratings on the N.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei
