I watched OS on Adult Swim on-demand and it most certainly is the Toonami version. Complete with digital undies, replaced curse words, a few abrupt cuts, and NO OP. But it is rated TVPG for some reason... probably because even edited it has adult situations.
So I think they still own the edited Outlaw Star episodes and could air them on CN. In which case they should but they probably wouldn't air it in Toonami again. Maybe on Friday nights if that "block" shows signs of life.
Also... Endless Waltz is rated TV-Y7-FV so I think we can assume that's the Toonami version since the uncut one would be TVPG (but no more than that). And if they do have Endless Waltz still then BY ALL MEANS air it on Toonami sometime. That movie rocks and deserves a replay much more than any of the DBZ movies.

True but why not air the uncut version? CN already got plenty of play out of those tapes. (unlike Kenshin's)
Heh heh... just you wait. Soon AS on demand will have edited Kenshin on it as well. That'll be the nail in the coffin for sure.

Perhaps Bandai didn't send any new tapes for the VOD run or perhaps whoever at Turner is running the VOD thing (since Williams St. is not involved yet) does not know there is a difference.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei
Hmm... maybe. But why buy JUST the VOD rights to EW and OS in the first place? Especially when they could get something else?
And I still haven't figured out if this means they DO have TV rights to s.Cry.ed... maybe they are waiting for WS to finished editing them or something. As much as AS could use a pick me up... I doubt they viewers would be able to stand the voices.

Perhaps that was what Bandai was offering on the cheap. Bandai might charge more for a brand new show. By grabbing several cheap series they can get a decent number of things available on VOD while they test out the response.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei

Turner Sales not knowing what shows are actually on AS.Originally Posted by Knux Five
Nice one. It's so true. But I think Turner sales noticed that OS and Gundam Wing were heavily requested on the Adult Swim message boards and figured... Hey we could do that. But then again the chances anyone high up at turner looks at the AS suggeston board is slim to none... but maybe someone has nothing better to do.

Well, I won't be buying that...
Perhaps name reconigtion. Maybe somebody told them that people wanted Gundam Wing and Outlaw Star back on the air, so they're putting them on VOD so that people would be more inclined to pick up the service.Originally Posted by Hyper Sensei

Well guess what? Millions of people still don't have VOD privilages with their cable company or don't want it in the first place. What is this going be tested for? To see if people will enjoy those shows? Well if people have been ranting and raving about them for years know, could they take a guess on what the answer may be?
Better why show old tapes that are still cut up rather than the un-cut versions? It's very doubtful that WS editied over the master copies. Plus someone there from the ASA branch has to own the DVD sets to these shows and can very easily make a tape for them.
Perhaps, but millions more DO want VOD, otherwise it wouldn't keep growing like it has. It bolsters ASA's library (Currently the only series it has that would draw people in are S-cry-ed and Arjuna), adds some name reconigtion (namely people who watched Toonami in 2000 and want to relive that moment), and gets people to join. VOD is actually getting to be pretty popular, and it's cheap to program as well.Originally Posted by Nin-Nin69

I feal somewhat violated, but in the end I don't care.
Well I was a bit interested to hear it was on AS VOD but well maybe it looks like to fill in a spot.

Well, this news sucks. Editing is bad enough, taking away the opening is the nail in the coffin. Someone doesn't know what they're doing. Why would anyone pay for edited Outlaw Star?
Exactly. I'm happy enough with my DVDs.
Well unless you get Digital Cable for just AS on-demand then you aren't paying for it.Originally Posted by Master Moron

What do you mean you don't have to pay for it, I thought you had to order it in?
No, that's just movies and certain channels. Adult Swim is free of charge because CN is a basic cable network. The Anime Network is also complementary.
