    Now, about Toonami The Animation...

    Like This Thread!
Now that Toonami is once a week, lets talk about what if Toonami created its own show. I forgot who brought this up first.

    - CG or Cell?
    - Who'd animate it?
    - Who'd do dubbing?
    - Should it be shown globally(in the other toonami's) or a US exlusive?
    - Plot ideas?

    Re: Toonami: The Animation

It's too early to tell what Toonami's packaging will look like then SVES goes Toonami. I do hope they keep the CGI. Now, for Toonami: The Animation I would like to see something 2D anime inspired. Maybe let the Samuari Jack team do the animation. Don't who to with when it comes to dubbing. Make it a US only thing, before showing it world-wide. Plot should be original.

And the plot would be TOM 3 goes out to play with his little ship used in the 2003 opening, and while away, some aliens come and commondeer the Absolution. SARA tries to shake them and calls police command. The aliens cut the communication. The clydes attack the aliens, and are taken apart. TOM comes back to the location where he left the Absolution and finds it gone. He calls the police command and they tell him that they got a "crank call" from the ship about 20 minutes ago. TOM asks for their help, and they soon give in. The police soon find the ship abandoned somewhere in deep space. TOM goes into shock when he finds the ship. He gets a new Absolution and downloads a new SARA matrix.

(That sounds more like a TIE kind of plot, but what can you do?)

    I wouldn't mind seeing a TOM series.

It'll never happen since WS doesn't have the money or resources, but it would be nice to see something akin to The Intruder.

Whoever would write this series should really expand on Tom and Sara's universe, maybe focusing the show on a completely separate group of characters, rather than have Tom and Sara be the main stars (for some reason I picture a vagabond group of robots exploring the universe like the Absolution does...but that's all I have so far).

I think it would be neat to have a show based on that idea, with Tom giving a nice approval of the series in between commercial breaks, rather than have a large role in the series itself (but he would make appearances).

And I think the show should be traditional 2D anime, animated by the same company that made IGPX; they seem to have a good concept of robot mechanics in motion.

The reason I prefer the 2D over 3D animation is simply because the show would need to stand apart visually from the Toonami bumpers. Other than that, 3D would work too.

I think Tom & Sara should have a talk show. That'd be fun... but I'm not sure about an action show. That could get stale if it isn't pumped up with a good continuaty and interesting plots and/or threats to our favorite space crew.

I think CGI works really well for Tom & Sara but I wouldn't be opposed to 2D animation either.

What I think is that there should be a honest to goodness Toonami console game. An action platformer where you play as Tom (I guess it could be closest to Jet Force Jeminai from the N64) and you can play in third or first person. You have a crisis to stop on the absolution (or something) and along the way you have to solve puzzles and fight bosses (made up of course) and what not. There could also be some space exploring and space ship piloting.

The closest I see is TOM guest starring on SGC2C, only to get killed somehow.
