    Unstoppable X-Men:

Even the Justice League will have hard time beating this line-up:

Cyclops - with his leadership and powerful optic blasts.

Storm - with her raw power of the weather's wrath.

Jean Grey/Phoenix - Not the cosmic Phoenix but the seasoned Telekinetic and Telepathic warrior.

Wolverine - with his unstoppable rage and formidable fighting skills.

Colossus - the strongest of all the X-Men.

Archangel - with his powerful wings that could provide air support.

Forge - as the brains with his ability to understand all things technological.

Longshot - will round out the agility factor of the team and can even the odds with his power to alter probability fields.

    My roster

The series would be combination of the comics from 616, the Age of Apocalypse, and the Ultimate universe.

    Cyclops--field leader
Wolverine--(like marvel would do the series without him)
    Jean Grey--(after Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga)
Beast with the blue Gorilla Design from TAS
Gambit--Xavier's rationale would be that he would rather him on the X-Men than in the Brotherhood and same with Wolverine
    Storm with the Mohawk
    Iceman in his 20s
Rogue--would join the team in the middle of the first season after she absorbs Ms. Marvel.
    Nightcrawler--fights hatred with relilgious perservance
Colossus--he gives the team another powerhouse and international flavor
Professor X--he would the field strageist, but he would go into the field

    Cameos
Forge in present and not the guy who sent Bishop back to the past ad naseaum
Emma Frost after the Hellfire Club
    Jubilee
Morph--either the AOA version or the X-MEN: TAS version
    Blink--AOA version
Psylocke--the asian assasin would be her origin. I would scrap her British roots
Archangel--I would him disillusioned from Xavier's dream because he was capture and transformed during an X-Men mission.

That's a great line-up but I'd probably drop Forge and Longshot and include Beast and Nightcrawler.

One thing I've noticed about every animated X-Men series is that the line-up always has around 8 main characters, sometimes split evenly between genders.

Pryde of the X-Men had Cyclops, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, Dazzler, Kitty Pryde, and Professor X. 8 main characters. 5 male, 3 female.

TAS had Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Gambit, Storm, Jean, Jubilee, Rogue, and Professor X. 9 main characters. 5 male, 4 female.

Evolution had Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Spyke, Jean, Rogue, Shadowcat, Wolverine, and Storm. 8 main characters. 4 male, 4 female. Xavier, Beast, and the New Mutants weren't in the opening sequence, so they don't count.

Very true. And six of those slots are essentially taken:

    Profesor X
    Cyclops
    Wolverine
    Jean
    Storm
    Rogue

So then one spare female (previously taken by Dazzler, Jubilee, and Shadowcat) and two more males (previously Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Spyke). So add

    Psylocke
    Colosuss
    Iceman

But three series, two movies, and over forty years of comics this seems far to predictable. So should we break away from the mold? I've got three seasons already planned for my team!

I merged this topic with a similar one we discussed a while back.

My team still rocks. Figured I'd explain it a bit more though.

Cyclops - It really isn't The X-Men without him, is it? I think the younger, confident leader from Evo stands as the best version so far. I actually think having him be single greatly improved his charcter, as a lot of the time, he really is just stuck as Jean's boyfriend. I also don't think he should be a complete nerd like the movies depicted him as.

Wolverine - Is Wolverine. The X-Men simply aren't as cool without him. He gets bashed a bit around here, but to me, he's more interesting than a lot of The X-Men put together. My favourite X-Man ever, without a doubt.

Collosus - No one says muscle quite like Collosus. The fact most of the strong men in X-Men suck has nothing to do with it.

Iceman - The young one of the group, prone to suffer because of his inexperience. That, and he has a damn cool power.

Beast - One of my favourites. Works as both a stronger character, a Dr/intelligent guy and someone who is persecuted because of his looks, which, in some way, everyone who's ever watched an X-Men cartoon/read a book can feel. If we could, we'd all like to change something about the way we look, even if it's just the colour of our hair.

Angel - Is too damn cool to leave off the team. Having missed out twice already, I hope the movie will spark some popularity into the character, as he's one of my favourites.

Rouge - Favourite female when she's not overdone.

I'd probably bring in more later, like Kitty, Jean Grey and maybe Storm. I'd save Gambit, Nightcrawler and Banshee for guest stars and utterly avoid using Jubilee at all.

I'd start out with the original line-up from X-Men #1 and then add on people like from Giant Size X-Men #1 and make a few modifications to make it like the X-Men Volume 2 #1.

    So at the end,

    Main Team:
    Professor Xavier
    Cyclops
    Wolverine
    Storm
    Jean Grey
    Beast
    Archangel
    Psylocke
    Gambit
    Rogue
    Colossus
    Iceman

    Guest Stars:
    Nightcrawler
    Banshee
    Thunderbird
    Sunfire
    Shadowcat
    Havok
    Multiple Man
    Moira MacTaggert

Seems like everyone likes the ol' favorites, don't they ?

That said,I'm gonna shoot for a somewhat different team.

    Leader
    -Shadowcat
(She had a lot of leadership going on at the end of evo.Why not have her own team ?She's the leader as well as the team's techie expert.Age:27)

    Main Team
    -Wolfsbane
(The teams brute strength.Same comic origin, basically the same character.
    Likes Cannonball.age:21)
    -Nocturne
(The outsider.Taken into the team after falling into
their demension,is looked after by her other demension
    relatives,Rogue and Gambit.age:18)
    -Psylocke
(The crazy one.She has a bit of a wildstreak to her here, but is quite
    reliable and an skilled fighter.Age:25)
    -Gambit
    (Second in command.Married to Rogue.Age:28)
    -Rogue
(Has her Miss Marvel powers, but cannot touch others.age:24)
    -Cannonball
(Shy,but when push comes to shove,Sam is "a loose cannon".
    Likes Rahne.Age:22)
    -Cypher
(Not as shy as Sam or Rahne, but rather on the quiet side.
Helps out Kitty if needed, but with some training from Psylocke,
is great in battle.has a "teacher crush" on Psy,but holds feelings
    for Rahne as well.age:22)
    -Chamber
(The loner.Hates Pyslocke and Gambit, and has a strong dislike for
    Shadowcat.age:27)

    Supporting Characters
-Banshee(Married to Moira.Tries to keep the team in line if things go awry.)
-Multiple Man(Going out with Syrin.Besides being Moira's lab assistant, helps break up any fights that start up between the boys...or girls.)
    -Siryn(Helps out in a fight when needed.Is Wolfsbane's friend.)
    -Moira(The resident genius.Is Wolfsbane's and Siryn's adoptive mother.)

As for villans:They'd be anything from a dangerous patient of Moira's to
Mystique and the Brotherhood.Something different would happend every
    episode,of course.

It would all take place on Muir Island, and they'd probably have gigs
in America and England when the occasion called for it.

See ?You don't need Jean,Cyke,Wolvie and whoever for a cool, kickin' team.

    Leader:

Xavier: A more violent one would be great.. also he can be able to walk.

    Main Team:

Jean Grey: A fresh Phoenix storyline (without space) would be great.
Rogue: I like to see her absorb others' powers.. Also has a good character.
Emma Frost: She's a great character and never used in any series. She can be in a conflict with Jean. Also a storyline showing how she turns into diamond would be great.
Wolverine: The team would be missing something without him.
Nightcrawler: Could bring some humour.. Also an origin story with Mystique would be great.
    Cyclops: Same with Wolverine
Shadowcat: She could bring some humour to the team. But she should join the team later on.

    Supporting Cast:

Mr. Sinister: May be the second session villian :) It would be great if they don't reveal who he is at first.
Mystique: I like how she enters secret places by changing her look.. Can work for Mr. Sinister in the beginning.
The Hellfire Club: They can be the frist season villians.. The show may begin with Emma Forst joining the X-Men.
Storm: She returned to Africa to protect the people there from a danger and can be there for a while..
Magneto: He sometimes helpes X-Men but then turns into a villian.

    Leader
    Storm:
Cyclops is a brilliant leader, but he is always the leader, and it gets kinda boring after a while. I think Ororo is a perfect choice to replace him.

    Main Team
Cyclops: Scott is a must for any mainstream X-team, and it would be nice to show him when he isn't the leader of the team. He is often portrayed as the stoic leader in other series, a very stereotypical role, so we don't really see any character. I think this could increase his popularity.
Phoenix: Jean and Scott, although they can sometimes be two-dimensional on their own, play off each other very well and help to develop each other's personalities. Jean is also a very strong female character.
Psylocke: Betsy is one of my all-time favourite X-Men, so I'm a little biased with her, but I think she deserves a prominent role in an X-Men series, and her layered personality, if written well, could bring a lot to the show.
Nightcrawler: Again, Kurt is one of my favourites, but Evo would have been much less fun without him; he can bring a light-hearted aspect to the series, as well as cool powers.
Banshee: Sean has never been an important character in the X-Men, so it could increase his popularity and develop his personality, past, and relationships with the other mutants (
    ).

Supporting Characters (Think X-Men: Evolution and the movie)
Shadowcat: Kitty would fit in nicely with my team, but I think she fits better as a younger mutant, possibly with the New Mutants.
    Mystique: 'nuff said.
Wolverine: I'd like to see Logan portrayed as a sometime-foe, sometime-ally of the X-Men.
Havok: a cool character...I don't think he would work as a full-time member, but he would be good in a part-time appearance.

Sure, why not, but I'm sure nobody'll like my answers:

    Leader
    - Cyclops. It's hard to argue with the guy, but I wouldn't want that arrogant jerk the way he was in Evo. More like the worrier that he was in TAS

    Main Team
    - Storm. She could challenge for the leadership role
    - Colossus, just because muscle is needed at times
    - Iceman, although he is an idiot, I like the Evo version of him.
    - Rogue, always one of my favorite characters.
    - Gambit
    - Phoenix/ Dark Phoenix
    - Wolverine, even though I REALLY hate Wolverine, the team wouldn't be recognized without him

Supporting Characters (Think X-Men: Evolution and the movie)
    - Professor X
    - Valerie Cooper
    - Banshee

Lets mix this up a bit...

Cyclops--Leader. Senior-most X-Man and the core of the combat team. Hardnosed and stoic as always, but with a hint of bitterness underneath the surface.

Wolverine--A wanderer who has finally found a home. (See below) Still the hothead, but slightly more at ease with his darker side than most other incarnations of him.

Jean--Cyclops' ex-grilfriend, now going steady with Wolverine. (Just because I'm sick of that love triangle...)

Storm--No mohawk (ack...) but more punkish than goddeshish. Team powerhouse (When the Pheonix force isn't messing with Jean).

Marrow--Joined up after Storm won partial leadership of the Morlocks

Bishop--Completely revamped. No guns, no future tech, no mission, just an accidental refugee from the future with the vauge notion that someone, sometime, betrayed the X-Men, and it had some very dire consequences...

Banshee--On the team because he's a fighter, and a longtime friend of Xavier.

Wolfsbane--Sent over by Moira. Vicious, but rather shy.

Cypher--Non-combattant. 'Cause every team needs a techie.

Xavier himself would be only loosely connected with the team. Publicly, he'd be a long-time political activist, trying to find a compromise between letting mutants run roughshod over regular humans, and exterminating them. He does have a 'school for gifted youngsters' as a shelter for mutants, but its heavilly monitered and any connections to an actuive militant team would get it shut down in a hurry. So the X-Men operate elsewhere, taking down renegade mutants other threats so that the world doesn't have to resort to Sentinels. (as often...) Other characters in the X-world can show up as residents/faculty at Xavier's school.

Obviously, with that cast, the stakes of the series would be pretty high. The regular villains would be Magneto, Sinsiter, Apocalypse, the MLF, Mystique's Brotherhood and others big names. The Legacy Virus, the FOH, Government exploitation of mutants (Weapon X) would all be ongoing concerns. And to round out the threats would be liberal doeses of aliens and time travel.

Haha, yep, my stable team ended up being wolverine, sabertooth, deadpool and ironman. Very low maitenence since they ended up healing all of their damage reasonably quick. Also, since Iron Man is insanely powerful in the game...
