I've had these covers lounging around on my hard drive for a few years now. They drive me crazy, and it's about time I shared the insanity. What I'm about to do is rather mean, but it's the only way you'll understand. Take a look at all of them (and no, they didn't inspire Princess Pi): This looks really interesting and exciting, doesn't it? Wouldn't you like to read them? YOU CAN'T. You can't buy it at the store unless the store is in France, and there is almost no information about it online. Its Wikipedia page is enough for a basic plot synposis, but little that couldn't be gathered from what the covers imply. Out of over thirty volumes printed, only four have been translated, and only in the UK (again). I only bought Nemi all the way over there and waited six weeks because I already knew I liked Nemi. There's no way to know for free if this thing sucks or not. But wait! Maybe there's an active Franco-Belgian scanlation community, just like there's a huge manga scanlation community that drives the manga companies crazy! Think again -- there is no such thing. There are a couple message board threads with volunteers that have been translating many European titles, but they've been going for the grim stuff first, which is what turns me off from American comics. Bah! This has been around since the 70's and was popular enough to get its own 52-episode animated series. That's right. All that and it's completely absent from the Internet? Why does no one care? What's going on? And who entered this on this page? No, it doesn't have a TVTropes page either, but.....that's proof someone out there obviously knows more than I do, but isn't coming forward. I've been curious about this comic for years. What's in there? WHAT'S IN THERE? Is it as epic as it looks? Is it good or is it terrible? This could be the most amazing story ever, but you'll never know! YOU'LL. NEVER. KNOW.
