Good to see them confirm Peters is coming back, because Quicksilver's absence was fairly notable when the cast was announced :).

Hopefully we finally get some resolution on Magneto being his father here...

Curious to see who Lamar Johnson ends up playing (a named X-Man? One of the Imperial Guard?)

Yeah, this justifies bringing Fassbender back. If Mystique continues Kurt love as her son, I'll accept her.

I've heard Magneto apparently isn't allowed to know because the revelation about Magneto being Quicksilver and Wanda's father wasn't in an X-Men book.

Probably not true but I believe only because I found that subplot to be so incredibly pointless in X-Men Apocalypse and would feel pointless if brought up again.

By that logic, they shouldn't have had Quicksilver straight-out say Magneto is his father in the last movie and make that his whole character arc.

Yeah, that seems like something they would've discussed when FOX was doing DOFP and Marvel were doing Avengers: AoU. That was when they released the rights info to the public.

Well it' about time let's see how many movies they can go without killing all the mutants inside it like Marvel somehow did twice

Well it's about time the movies started getting other major X-Men staples like Genosha :D.

I wonder if it will play into Magneto's role in the movie? Maybe he's already established the nation as a Mutant refuge and the X-Men flee there to escape the Shi'ar :ack:?

I have to wonder just how much screentime is in outerspace. I think the film will be accurate to the comic by somehow starting out returning from space. Then we see Erik, Pete, and gang involved on earth.

They should avoid adapting House of M.

Yeah, well unless she can put in a better performance (I am aware alot of it was left on the cutting room floor), I'm not enthused.

It would be awesome if they use this opportunity to actually develop Psylocke, but I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't amount to anything .

I'm not sure I'd want it to amount to anything until these films actually learn how to properly balance out their characters which... they really have no idea how to do so. Especially if Apocalypse is anything to go by. Heck this one we know we already have 9 characters to deal with (Jean Grey, Xaiver, Magneto, Mystique, Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, Storm And Quicksilver) at the forefront in addition to all the others they'll have to introduce connected to the Phoenix Force so until it's proven the team can handle a large roster I'd rather keep the line up as clear as possible. Seriously Deadpool and Logan worked so well due to them not having an uber large cast and yeah the Avengers film can handle a large cast but... X-Men films clearly haven't so until we see that we shouldn't see a lot of characters just forced in... just for the sake of it.

I'm curious how much of the Imperial Guard will show up, because that's even more characters to have to deal with :p.

7/7: If this is a trilogy opener, I don't suspect too many. Let guys like Gladiator & Deathbird rest until sequel. Show them maybe, but leave the mystery and myth to the sequel. I hate to say it, but they should probably tease the romance of Charles amd Lil. Also, if they were really smart, they could tie the Phallanx from New Mutants to this.

Psylocke would probably be more developed if they introduced Captain Britain in the MCU and randomly mentioned he had an off-screen sister for no reason that's how poorly developed Psylocke is and will probably stay just like all the other X-Men that aren't Wolverine, Prof X, Magneto or Mystique.

Nah, I'm hoping she becomes a fleshed-out character in a future film (maybe X-Force?).

Not all of the films he's done as producer or writer were bad.
