We could just as easily end up with a Blade Trinity situation.

I really hope it doesn't end up like Trinity because I am actually happy that the X-Men film series is going to a cosmic direction with this film.

This movie ain't going nowhere with Simon KIngbreg as the director.
This man is not very good at his job.
Like Phil Hoodwinked Jackson in the NBA.I don't see Fox making one yet on this.

Yeah, one of the producers confirmed they have plans to use Mister Sinister. Should be in the main X-verse thread I have pinned in this section.

It's Kinberg, not Kingberg! Sure, he's responsible for co-writing one of the weakest X-Men films and is partly to blame for the Fant4stic flop (though I blame more on Trank than him) but you don't have to go all on this. Yes, people are very divisive on him being the director but you don't need to be like this.

Anyway, back to topic on the film.

The difference is Kinberg at least knows and seems to respect these characters. I don't trust Goyer with Green Lanterns either. He gets praise for writing Nolan's gritty post-modern deconstruction of Batman, but I don't personally give him that.

As of now all we can do is give the guy a chance. If they make the mistake again by cramming this "saga" into one film, that's on him and Donner. It will be sad to see a stripped down version of that storyline AGAIN.

Not only that, Goyer has had a career as a comic book writer as he and James Robinson was responsible for writing JSA, which marked as a revival of the Justice Society of America title from DC.

I'm giving Kinberg a chance plus he has said that he was displeased with The Last Stand, which was his first contribution of the X-Men film series as co-writer of the screenplay.

I hope this movie does a lot better than Last Stand and also involves cyclops more than the original trilogy. While I liked the first trilogy at the beginning, they were basically Wolverine movies. While he will never be as popular as Wolverine I always wanted to see more cyclops.

Some additional character breakdowns. It sounds like Sunfire, Dazzler, and a revived Hellfire Club will appear.

They missed the boat on introducing Dazzler in the last 80's movie, but I guess it's fitting to be introducing her in an adaption of the Dark Phoenix Saga, though I'm curious what a 90's Dazzler will look like .

Also surprised to see the Hellfire Club might still be involved, though it seems we might just get Mastermind to facilitate his role in the original comic (what with Shaw and Emma apparently being dead) :ack:.

Hope this movie doesn't become too crowded...

I actually remember Taylor Swift on set with Kinberg & cast on Apocalypse. Alot of suspicion about her possible cameo as Dazzler. Alas it never happened.

I'm starting to hope the Phoenix Saga does become a trilogy. Shi'ar and Hellfire Club could be the antagonists of two separate films, IMO.

Well, it'd be nice to finally be able to expect that from him now :rolleyes2:.

Well, Bryan Singer confirmed that Lady Gaga would play the character in DOFP before revealing the confirmation to be an April Fool's joke from him. That was before Gaga began her acting career.

Well, at least it's a confirmed small part rather then a character they'll majorly promote only to do very little with (as often happens in this franchise).

But it's really cool that we'll finally see Dazzler in an X-Men movie, and I'm interested to see who they get to play her and what kind of visual they'll go for with Alison :).

That's good to hear; I want Quicksilver and Magneto to wrap up their character/family arc.
