Jeff Wadlow is writing the script for the "X-Men" spin-off and may also direct.

Wadlow, who is readying for the Aug. 16 release of Kick-Ass 2, has been tapped to write an adaptation of X-Force, an X-Men spinoff being developed by 20th Century Fox.

This is an interesting prospect because there are so many iterations of the team.
If Days of the Future Past is used as a launching pad and involves all sorts of time travel shenanigans, I'm guessing we'll see Cable.

If Marvel Studios is going to share him, likely since we're seeing Quicksilver being.

I suppose this makes the prospects of the live-action Agents of Atlas movie I want to see made so so badly slightly more possible.

Rob Liefield has said on Twitter that Cable & Deadpool will star, with Ryan Reynolds returning. No word on who will play Cable though.

Cable is finally being introduced, huh? I've been waiting for him. And I guess Deadpool fans can rest easy.

I wouldn't mind seeing Fantomex and Pyslocke show up

I'm taking LIEfeld's word with a grain of salt. Kinda like with Stan Lee, creators nowadays have nearly no input.

I hope they do not use Stryfe the clone of Cable as the big bad guy

Hmm, an X-Force film has major potential. I hope Psylocke appears.

In regards to the latter character, hopefully they'll use Days of Future Past as an excuse to retcon Dudepeel out of existence and give us a Deadpool who is true to the comics.

Guessing they kind of folded that Deadpool movie into this one (if they had anything going), the way that X-Men Origins: Magneto was folded into First Class.

Anyway, yeah. Hoping Days of Future Past is the big course-corrector it's hoping out to be, it seems like it's basically going to shape the entire future of the X-Men film franchise from here on out.

I'm down with that. I'm cool with Deadpool as long as it's actually a faithful representation of Deadpool and Reynolds is not involved.

It's probably the only way to see Deadpool on film at this point because Fox has waffled on the Deadpool solo film which they clearly don't want to make.

The script was supposed to be hard R, and there was no way anyone was going to make an R-rated superhero movie after the failure of Watchmen. Heck even Millar (who ironically works on the Fox comic adaptations) talks about how the Kick-Ass movies had to be made outside the studio system because nobody wanted to do a superhero movie full of F-bombs and penis jokes.
