Well I do and I'm sure most other people, even if they aren't diehard classic cartoon fans, do.
So, will there be a thread talking about the Popeye Show here in AS?
People complaining about a show that airs at 1:30 should be shot into space. As if people REALLY wanted to see Cowboy Bebop there instead.
Also, TTTP's been supportive of this decision. There's no need to generalize.
Boomerang's target audience is 2-6 year olds.
Man, I hope there is. I'm looking forward to that C&C.
Heh! Please, don't make me laugh while I'm drinking. :¬)
There's always need to generalize! ;¬)
I think the folks on the TTTP are a quirky minority unto themselves. They represent most of the people left out of the "most others."
Mark my words, classic haters are going to throw increasingly loud tantrums, classicphiles will counter such that they mostly succeed in getting themselves irritated, and the unwashed masses will wonder why a show so much older than the others and made in such a different way is on Adult Swim. That isn't to say that the unwashed masses won't watch. Some will. Likely afterward, they will be asking one more question: why is Popeye following a pair of steaming piles like Ripping Friends(wordofmouth) and Oblongs?
*honks hugs and whatever else*
Okay, so the black and white Popeyes are back on Cartoon Network.
Could we please see them on Boomerang, too? I haven't seen the "colorized" ones, and I don't care to! (It kills the three-dimensional effects used in such films as "Learn Polikeness" and "Little Swee-Pea.")
I don't mind the later color Popeyes, just those!
Watch. The adultswim.com Message Boards will moan and whine all night long the day Bebop leaves.
Does it really matter what the as.com message boards think to the managment?
I mean nowadays. Do they still possess the influence they once had? (Granted, it's not all-encompassing, but it's there)
It's still there infact it's more laud and annoying as ever...if moreso
What do you mean by that? That the TTTP is composed of the "leftovers" from every other community? If that is what you meant, I would take it as an insult.
Anyway you look at it, this is plain wrong.
The boards at AS will errupt into chaos..
OMG WTF MY TV IS BROKEN AND ONLY SHOW IN B&W OMG WTF
Like a fine wine old shows can age well and be served well later on, but if you let it go too long it will turn into vinegar...
Well, if this can't make funny cards, nothing can!
Easy, dude, easy. It was a carry-over statement from one or two previous posts.
I was laying out the demographics for the probable reaction to Popeye. I broke the situation down into two groups, with a remainder — that remainder being the classic toon fans, like the folks in the TTTP. The other two groups are going to be the screaming classic haters, and the far more quiet confused masses, who are going to be wondering why this show(Popeye) is sitting in with the others(who vary in quality, but tend to have a fairly similar tone).
Folks from the TTTP are going to be the ones shouting back at the classic haters, and average whiners from AS.com. I come not to mock them. Far from it. They most certainly have my sympathy in the flame war to come. :¬)

Cappy "it's not replacing Inuyasha, but I doubt the reaction would've been much worse" Red
C&C threads? There will be as long as they don't turn into...
(I.E. Yes, but it'll be for reviewing the show, not saying whether or not it belongs on the block)
Duelist Goku, I gotta admit, you're getting better. This is #8 for you! =D
Well, the kids got spirit. Unlike say...
No offense but how do you even know if these people are Duelist Goku or not? (you could be banning random users that have nothing to do with him)
