They didn't make a new animated Suicide Squad movie to tie in with the live action movie and re-released Assault on Arkham as well. No biggie.

I hear you, but I think this re-release was for two, maybe three reasons.

    1. Tie into the 2017 Wonder Woman movie
    2. Test the market for a future Wonder Woman animated movie
    3. (maybe) Also tie into Wonder Woman's 75th anniversary from last year
Consumers are buying the Batman movies so I don't blame DC for sticking to a character that has remained successful. They tried Wonder Woman (and Green Lantern) but the slow sales/low performance discouraged them from continuing.

If people just keep buying Batman movies and that's it, we won't get anything else, so I think it's up to consumers to speak with their money. People complain that we're getting too much Batman, but when DC tries something else, the sales aren't as good as the Batman movies. So what do you expect DC to do? :\

Batman was in the Suicide Squad (8/5/2016), therefore The Killing Joke (7/25/2016 & 8/2/2016) animated movie was the tie in release.

I just remembered the existence of Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia. Seriously, no one over at WB thought and said to somebody "We have the live action Wonder Woman film coming out. Let's do a new animated Wonder Woman movie. How about an adaptation of The Hiketeia? It's got BATMAN in it!!!!!!!!!"

Interesting! A new 'commemorative retrospective with Lauren Montgomery' - that may tip me towards getting this.

This was the best DC DTV in my opinion although I haven't seen plenty of them.

If you were planning to order it off Amazon, it's back in stock at $16.99.

EDIT: Target will have the Steelbook for $16.99 as well this week.

I picked up the Steelbook version of this one. While the new bonus content is really light and not worth the price tag I caved when I saw how cheap the Steelbook was going for. Plus it's a great movie so I didn't mind plunking down the $20 for it. It also came with movie money for the live-action Wonder Woman movie so that helped too.
