Looks like the "gooey mess" won't start yet, as the Virtual Console is taking the week off...

I'd say that they're going light this week for the 3DS eShop's sake, but this is about par for the course...

I assume there's nothing new this week due to E3?

There are three confirmed DSiWare titles for this Thursday, meaning there's got to be a press release at least today.

Nintendo sent a press release to Nintendo Life stating that all three shops will be updated on Thursdays, including the Wii Shop (WiiWare and VC), the DSi Shop and the eShop. As a result, the "Nintendo Download" press releases will also be posted on Thursdays before the updates happen. So there won't be any updates today.

Although, I do wonder if the Nintendo Channel will still be updated on Mondays, or if that will be updated on Thursdays as well.

Mega Man 5 is good enough. Glad to see that their post-E3 offerings is good.

The peak of the Final Fantasy series right here, and one of the best RPGs of all time. If you haven't played it on the SNES, PS1, or GBA... Well, now's your chance!

Finally, I get to play what is considered the best version of FFVI. I've been looking forward to this.

Europe will soon be getting Nintendo's Game Boy version of Taito's 1981 arcade game Qix. I know that Mario makes a couple cameos in this version, but would licensing issues prevent it from being released here? If not, does this mean we might see Nintendo's Game Boy version of Tetris someday (OTOH, it was made by Bullet-Proof Software, a company that no longer exists, so Nintendo might not have the source code?), or even their NES version on the Wii?

Square Enix (who own Taito) and Nintendo seem to have a good relationship in regards to these re-releases, so I'd say it's very possible for it to come out here.

No clue what kind of music game this is, but I'm certain I don't care.

There was a surprise addition today. It turns out that there is a VC game this week: Jaleco's Super E.D.F.: Earth Defense Force. I don't know if they for got to mention it, or really wanted to make it a surprise, or even if it was a total last minute addition, but I just thought you should know. Even I was surprised...

So funny story. Outside of the internet channel, which I got a few years back, I have barely used any of the Wii points I have. I only ever got one wii points card (which I used for the internet channel like I said) and never spent the rest of the points on it.

I'm still wondering what to do with the rest of it, or even what happens if I get a WiiU without spending it. Will it just be a waste?

Given Nintendo's brief history with online accounts, it is most likely that you will be able to transfer purchases from your Wii to your Wii U, but not unused points. I'd suggest just spending what's leftover just before any such transfer. Of course, that's just assuming my guess is correct about points not transferring.

Well that's just weird. It must have been an oversight.
