Can't wait. This looks awesome, though I'm really wondering about the control scheme.

Kotaku reports that all that footage in the trailer is in-engine, it wasn't a prerendered thing. Considering how pretty Nintendo managed to make Wind Waker HD, I'm not surprised they've managed this sort of presentation for the first original HD Zelda game - not surprised, but very impressed.

I also like that they're running with the roaming freedom that A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS presented to the player.

I like this return to old school methods. LoZ and LttP both had a degree of freedom- I always used to do the 4th crystal second in LttP to get the red sword.

I wonder how old that Link is? Looks a tad younger than SS but definitely older than TP.

Graphically the game looks gorgeous and I really love that Nintendo continuously reworks their artistic direction so it doesn't fall into boring 100% Super Realistic Graphics like so many others.

That said, I'm a little worried on the vast openness. I mean, I know that's the entire purpose of a Zelda game and I really loved exploring the ocean in Wind Waker, but I remember hating how big the main hub of Twilight Princess was. Maybe it was too dense with barely any worthwhile secrets (from what I can remember), but I hope the new Zelda will be much more plentiful in this regard.

I still need a WiiU, but hey, if they consider maybe a Zelda bundle pack, I'll finally get it? ;D

It really looks like Nintendo took a good, long at Skyrim when developing this new LOZ, hopefully the gameplay for this will be a lot more polished than Skyrim. The art style looks beautiful, though I would've preferred the Twilight Princess style we got from that tech demo a while back.

Also, is it just me or does Link look a little bit more androgynous than usual?

Obviously, I'll be getting this. I have a hunch it'll be great.

    Comrades,

seems like it could be nintendos biggest game yet in terms of scope. I'll honestly be surprised if this makes the 2015 release date.

haven't gotten a wii u yet but will definitely get one before this comes out.

You didn't want the Wind Waker bundle? It even had a pretty Zelda gamepad.

I considered it, I very nearly did, but I was strapped for cash at the time. Besides, I think in the long run, should Nintendo announce a possible bundle with the new Zelda game, better to own the one with a game I haven't played yet. :)

I wouldn't put it past Nintendo releasing a second Zelda bundle, so you probably have a good chance. They did 2 for the 3DS after all.

With regards to the art style, it looks to me like they're going with the "watercolor painting" angle that was used in Skyward Sword.

Whoa! Here's an interesting quote from Mr. Aonuma.

Shot in the dark, but could it be Zelda? Or maybe Link has a sister? I did think he looked pretty feminine.

Aryll was Link's sister in Wind Waker. Maybe this is a sequel?

Good guesses...my money's on a sibling or ancestor. Way to provoke an inevitable torrent of speculation, Aonuma!

It definitely makes me think of that and Wind Waker the most. I love it, it's so pretty and expressive. We've come a long way from Twilight Princess.

Well looks like I'll be getting a Wii U in 2015. That looks amazing.

Man, I wish they'd make a girl Link; I would love that more than anything, but I doubt Nintendo would go that far. Shame. But I do like that Nausiccaa comparison.

A female Link would be an interesting development.

I have to say this is the first Wii U title beyond Smash Bros. that I'm eager to see more of. Fully open world Zelda adventuring? Sounds amazing.
