Nickelodeon has been showing so much history airing Ice Age, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs more frequently than SpongeBob movie.

I wonder if Cartoon network has been going thru same thing Nick has been doing, repeating same movies over frequently for the past several months? Even Disney movies have been going to more variety. But is Nick or Viacom too cheap to bring other movies to variety?

How many times Nickelodeon has been showing Ice Age movies too much or any other movies since january this year to current:
    Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel - 4/28/17, 4/29/17, 5/11/17, 5/12/17, 5/21/17, 5/21/17: 6
    Cheaper by the Dozen - 2/2/17, 2/16/17, 4/7/17, 4/23/17: 4
    Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days - 1/5/17, 1/26/17: 2
    Dolphin Tale 2 - 1/12/17: 1
    Forever Shrek After - 5/18/17, 5/19/17, 5/27/17, 5/28/17: 4
    Ice Age - 2/10/17, 2/24/17, 4/16/17, 4/21/17, 5/4/17, 5/19/17, 5/27/17, 5/28/17, 6/8/17, 6/18/17, 7/7/17, 7/8/17, 7/12/17: 13
    Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs - 4/14/17, 4/14/17, 4/20/17, 5/5/17, 5/5/17, 5/14/17, 5/15/17, 5/27/17, 6/10/17, 6/15/17, 6/23/17, 7/3/17, 7/3/17, 7/13/17: 14
    The Last Airbender - 3/16/17, 4/9/17, 4/27/17, 5/7/17, 5/26/17, 6/16/17: 6
    Megamind - 3/2/17, 3/3/17, 3/17/17, 3/26/17: 4
    Parent Trap (1998) - 3/9/17, 3/30/17, 6/1/17, 6/29/17: 4
    Rio - 3/3/17, 3/12/17, 3/13/17, 3/24/17, 4/13/17, 4/21/17, 4/28/17: 7
    Scooby Doo - 2/5/17, 2/9/17, 2/17/17, 3/19/17, 3/31/17: 5
    SpongeBob SquarePants Movie - 1/1/17, 2/20/17, 2/21/17, 3/11/17, 3/12/17, 3/14/17, 3/14/17, 3/26/17, 4/15/17, 4/30/17, 5/1/17, 5/28/17, 5/29/17, 6/11/17, 7/1/17, 7/2/17: 16
    The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water - 6/30/17, 7/1/17, 7/1/17, 7/2/17, 7/2/17: 5
    Surf's Up - 1/19/17: 1
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - 3/10/17, 3/23/17, 4/6/17, 5/25/17, 6/22/17: 5
    Yogi Bear - 7/6/17: 1

I'm not talking about 2016 airing movies or before... Just counting how many times movies has been airing this year in 2017. I'm not honestly worried about SpongeBob movie, but more concerned about how Ice Age movies has been overplayed many times. Is Nick too cheap to produce other movies? This reminds me how Nick has had history frequently overplaying Rugrats in Paris the Movie since spring 2013!

Anyway my point is do you think Nick is obsessed with overplaying Ice Age too much?

Most networks could always overplay a movie to simply fill in some tv schedule hours or due to a limited selection of movies.

It's not Ice Age that Nick-at-Nite is obsessed with playing ad nauseum

    It's the Parent Trap

However with recent premieres of movies like Nick's own The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of Water there's hope that NaN will integrate that along with other movies into it's rotation

Probably not though since they are perfectly content with airing the same 5 movies every week...

    Stupid Nick-at-Nite!

I think this all boils down to laziness

This is the same reason why NickSplat airs nothing but Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers, CatDog, and Rocko's Modern Life

I think that this issue is related to the fact that certain channels don't have enough movies to fill up the airtime. In 2013, TVI aired Borat about three times in two or so months.

I could understand if the repeated movies for limited time (like Shrek Forever, Alvin and Chipmunks: Squeakquel) be ok, but not for same movies that has been on air for several months or years, like someone said is Parent Trap. Ice Age has been a lot since Dec 2016 along with Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs on Nickelodeon. I wish these movies should be done by later this month...

If a movie is popular and a network has the rights to it, they'll of course want to use it to grab as many eyeballs as they can.

I see Mrs. Doubtfire on multiple stations more than anything. Do they not think everyone's got it saved to their DVR by now?

Disney Channel Portugal has been playing more or less the same films in a loop for about a year now: some unpopular direct-to-video sequels, Tinker Bell films, the first Stuart Little film, the first George of the Jungle live-action adaptation. I don't know why, but some of these films aren't even popular. Sometimes they have a few alterations whenever a huge Disney classic is on every month or so.

What I do not understand is why can't Nickelodeon air more original movies? Even TeenNick sometimes air original movies, but barely. Sure I've seen Disney airing original movies most of the time.
