The Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade.
Not only is it educational about Disney resorts, parks and tours, it also had a dancing old guy from UP.
    But mostly that other stuff.
Actually, even the parade floats are a form of advertizing.

    EDIT:
The Merry Christmas is strong with this one.
Darth Vader escorted by a platoon of Stormtroopers.
Then a rebel flyover with fireworks. Did that really happen?

I'm trying to watch Soul Eater now, but unfortunately it's not grabbing my attention and I'm only on the 4th episode (I've seen up to episode 21). Despite me liking the animation (it's Bones after all. I'm expecting nothing but greatness when it comes to animation) it's everything else that's not clicking.

I watched both Pocahontas and Mulan earlier tonight. Despite the way it handles the historical events and there's always been a sense of uncomfortableness about it when I first learned about those events many years ago, Pocahontas is a relatively decent movie. I still think that most of the songs hold up better than the actual movie does, but it's okay. Pocahontas and John Smith have better chemistry than I remembered, which does make the ending sadder. Mulan, on the other hand, is still one of my favorite Disney movies. The characters are mostly likable/entertaining, a couple of the songs are good and I do like how Mulan's journey is generally handled during the course of the story.

Trying my hands on Star Driver (well, again; I watched the first two episode months ago, stopped for a while, and now am attempting it again). Five episodes in and so far I think the animation is gorgeous (as par usual from BONES), the Council of Evil (or Ambiguity or whatever) has some of the most fugliest, gaudy outfits I've ever seen, Tauburn has a faaaaabulously lovely design for a robot, and the musical score is epic ("Monochrome" gets me pumped like no tomorrow). However, I can't say the story is grabbing me so far. It's...decent. I'm hoping it'll get better though.

Now that Girls und Panzer is done until March (long story), I've been catching up on my Dragon Ball DVDs; I just finished Disc 2 of Season 3, and Seasons 4 and 5 are on their way, as is Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 (I chose this version to avoid the buttloads of filler).

Working on a Lord of the Rings rewatch. Started Fellowship last night (made it through the first extended edition disc) and am finishing it up today.

The New Years celebration from Vienna.

It's full of Wagner and waltzes by Strauss. (Josef this time)

I caught part of it on the radio this morning. Glad it's on tv tonight.

I'm watching Kill Bill. I wish they'd release the uncut volume 1 on blu-ray, it would look great in high definition.

I re-watched Captain America: The First Avenger on Blu-Ray. After re-seeing it, it is still currently my least-favorite MCU film. I liked it, but it wasn't as exciting or "epic" as the others. I get that the film maybe wasn't going for that, but still.

I also saw the "Something Funny Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer short that came with the Blu-Ray. It was cute, but really short. Still, cool to see Coulson kick some butt. Also, I share his love for donuts.

Started watching Lost Girl on Netflix. Three episodes in and it's fun; I love shows with kick-butt women in the lead.

Since I've finally got the second and third volumes, I'm making my way through all of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. Already watched Volume 1 when I got it a couple years ago, but am starting from the beginning again. I wish Lucas hadn't reedited all the episodes into feature-length films, because scenes have been cut out, there's no proper show intro, and the new transitions branching two episodes together feel awkward. One minute you're in Egypt, the next you're in Tangiers, and Corey Carrier ages a couple years despite the stories supposedly taking place back-to-back. Still, content-wise it's a great show, and Lloyd Owen (as a young Henry Jones, Sr.) totally captures the spirit -- and especially voice -- of Sean Connery. I love whenever he snaps a Connery-tinged "Junior!" :D

I thought it was the best, and had epic all over it. Plus, it had good characters, a nice romance, and a well-balanced story that didn't peak 30-40 minutes the way Iron Man and Thor did, but instead built up the momentum to an all-out finale. It's the only MCU film I care to own, although I hope the sequel can find a spot on my shelf as well.

Watching Pitch Perfect tonight. Not usually my kind of movie but I heard good things so thought I'd check it out.

To begin 2013, I've begun watching Beast Wars: Transformers. Other TZ posters have been saying that I should watch it, so I've decided to check it out. I've watched the first two parter. So far...I think its good. I'm sure it'll get better later. My only hope is that they kill off Ratrap (?) because he might just be the most annoying character in the whole Transformers franchise (and that is saying something).

I've also been re-watching Kanon on DVD.

I watched The Last Unicorn with my Mom earlier tonight. I thought it was pretty good. The animation holds up surprisingly well, the storyline is pretty interesting and the music for the most part was great. I thought that it dragged on a bit once they got to the castle and the love interest seemed a bit forced, but I got the impression that it was so that the Unicorn herself would change more as a result of this journey and make her less pure in order to achieve her goal. My Mom didn't care much for it though. Still, it was a pretty enjoyable and engaging movie.

And tonight, I finished watching Tangled for the first time. It was really fun. The comedy was hilarious, the storyline flowed nicely, the chemistry between Rapunzel and Eugene was sweet and there were some really nice emotional moments both near the end and with Rapunzel's parents. Aside from the song that Rapunzel and Eugene sing tonight, the songs were pretty forgettable and I didn't care much for the villain. Still, this was a really solid and enjoyable movie.

Been watching at a slow pace Season 1 to The Walking Dead that was lent, hadn't seen it on AMC at all. I see now why it's a great show, but imo, I couldn't watch it for reruns, I do like it 1st-run, though

(on a semi-related note, call it a lending-trade, but lent S1 of Dan Vs to the same friend, he got into it, *yes!*)
