my mom actually shipped doc mcstuffins & freaking winnie the pooh because of their cross-over

that would be as weird as...

    dora the explorer & spongebob!

    i shudder to think!

can you guys come up with any character pairings more messed up then doc & pooh OR dora & spongebob?

In general the main character x their opposite gender friend or their sidekick, usually they are just so cliche and obvious.

Anything that is incest-ship. Sorry but I don't support any of that stuff, it's gross.

Kitty Katswell and Dudley Puppy, It's like supporting an abusive relationship considering how much Kitty gets hurt from Dudley's careless antics.
Lincoln with any of his sister: One reason why I can't take most shippings seriously.
    Pretty much any incest pairings.

That's not exactly "screwed-up" but more like what you said, cliche.

I once came across someone on DeviantArt that for some reason shipped Huckleberry Hound with Lil from Rugrats. I'm not making this up. I also don't get why people ship The Powerpuff Girls with The Rowdyruff boys since they're enemies on the show. (EDIT: That may have been a bit far. I still don't get it, but I still don't think it's that messed up and I apologize.) And yeah, I can agree with those that don't like incest pairings.

Incestuous pairings shouldn't even be considered for animation. Period.

Oddball ships, such as what was described above, probably have their roots in a Johnny Bravo 1st season episode, "Date With an Antelope". Yeah, Johnny's also been with a werewolf babe, but Van Partible was letting his imagination run wild.

Speaking of the Powerpuff Girls, what about the time Billy of the Gang Green Gang was crushing on Buttercup?

It was Ace, and he was faking it to use Buttercup's crush on him to their advantage.

I think oddball ships have more to do with people trying to "defy" the more normal things. And I doubt Johnny Bravo was the first cartoon with bestiality (Roger Rabbit/Jessica Rabbit is one example).

Roger & Jessica pre-dated Johnny by a few years, yes.

@PinkiePie97: You're right about Ace, but I do remember Billy trying to reform and help the girls in one other instance, and maybe that got my wires crossed.

what's wrong with a human and animal pairing in fiction if the animal is sapient and thus, able to consent?

In Sweden it's forbidden for humans to mate with anything that isn't human.

But I would love to see an animated series about a family with a human father an daughter and a non-human mother and son. (Basically like Gumball)

    because it's non-canon

besides doc mcstuffins is a PRE-SCHOOL show

forget doc & pooh or dora & spongebob...

lil & huckleberry hound is hands-down the strangest character shipping i have EVER seen!

Dudley doesn't usually hurt with Kitty with malicious intent, and when he does it's usually because they're both mutually engaged in a cartoony kerfuffle.

I'm generally not a fan of pairings involving a human with an animal (anthro or otherwise), Roger and Jessica Rabbit being the somewhat self-aware exception.

Now a pairing I've seen that has a little ground on DeviantArt is Tatsumi and Esdeath from Akame ga Kill!. Yeah, no. Esdeath's a murderous psycho and way too old for Tatsumi.

Doesn't matter if it's intentional or not, it would still be a abusive relationship.

IMHO it shouldn't be considered for live action either. Stuff like Dipper/Mabel and Anna/Elsa disgust me to no end. I don't care if it's a joke, it's disgusting.

I know we're discussing the hypothetical pairing potential of two fictional characters, but it's not abuse if it's accidental.

well, yes it's creepy when kid characters are paired regardless of species but if a sapient animal can consent, it's okay. bestiality is wrong in real life because real life animals cannot consent.

I'm sorry but I don't care if it's accidental, it still an abusive relationship.

I think your post kind of contradicts itself, but let's just bury the subject.

I think pairing any animated incarnation of Batman with any animated incarnation of Joker is pretty screwed up. For that matter, Joker and Harley is a(n intentionally) screwed-up relationship.

Spongebob would be a pedophile if he did.
