I take it NBC has taken the liberty of ridding it self of the Real Wedding Crashers?

JourneyMan remind me of Quantum Leap. Why do I get the feeling, except for Bionic Woman, that all these shows are gonna get cancelled before the year ends?

Heroes episodes expand to 30 with 'Origins.' From Zap2It.com....

That's a pretty good idea. That 7 week hiatus they took from March 5th to April 23rd was just brutal. NBC lost viewership when it came back because of that long gap. I love this! :D

So, this basically states that Heroes will be back for the 2008-09 season as well. Good to know.

Too bad about "Raines" and I'm really going to miss "Thank God You're Here" and "Identity."

So NBC is still expecting to cancel any show that isn't a breakout runaway hit like Betty and Heroes, huh? I thought they had changed their business model but it looks like this season they just struck oil and now they'll keep on drilling like they always do.

Sad to see You're Here getting the axe so soon. It needed a chance to develop its potential.

Thats how I read into it. Great to hear.

Which is odd. You would think that with them being behind CBS, ABC, and Fox they would give a show a little more chance to flesh out.

Interesting that there moving L&O:CI to the USA network for it's new episodes this fall. Outside of that though nothing really sounds interesting this season. Hopefully 30 Rock will get more viewers since it will be between Earl and Office, even though moving Office to 9 does seem like a bad idea.

It sure stinks that Thank God You're Here got the axe. It was refreshing to have improv back on network TV, although watered down. It's a real shame, espacially coming from someone as deep-rooted in improvisation as myself.

I agree that it needed some more time to improve, mainly by getting new supporting people. They have to be some of the lousiest improv people I've ever seen; They are always breaking the 'rules of improv,' like FREQUENTLY denying what a main player says, and it really brings down the quality.

I guess a decision like this comes from a thought that if it isn't a mega-hit, we'll sink lower and lower in ratings like NBC has for a while. Even then, the 8 PM Wednesday time slot wasn't a very competitive slot anyway, Usually a rating around five to six would be dominating in that slot and TGYH's rating were respectable in it's run so far. It's still a lousy deal for a show still in need of time to mature.

I can't help but wonder if they think they'll get people to watch Friday Night Lights by putting it on Friday Night.

It really kills me to see this move. NBC had moved it around to 3 different nights and two time slots to find the right audience. First it was on Tuesday at 8pm. Then they experimented with a one night only Monday at 10pm after Hereos which saw an improvement in ratings over it's Tuesday slot. Then when American Idol started up again, NBC moved it to Wednesday at 8pm to avoid it. The ratings results were about the same.

So now they move it to Fridays at 10pm? It's a family show. 8pm or 9pm would have been better. But 10pm? I guess they really want to keep those game shows for the 8:00 slot hour.

Yup. One last season. NBC's not pulling a "Taxi" with this series*, so it's good to see the show remain one last season.

*For those too young to know or too cynical to care, Taxi was a popular sitcom that premiered on ABC in 1978. In its first two seasons, the series was firmly placed in ABC's popular lineup at the time. However, by season three, ABC moved the series to a more competitive slot, and the ratings began to tank. At the end of season four, ABC cancelled the series. Strangely, there would be hope for one last season courtesy of NBC, who paired the series with another series, Cheers, on Thursday nights at 9:30 PM, ironically the same slot Scrubs finds itself in today.

Also ironically, if Scrubs would be cancelled, the series would have, in essence, done a reversal of what Taxi did, moving from NBC to ABC. And now you know the rest of the story.

    Good day.
