Oh, no! Not live-action dramas! Not only that, but they mentioned one REALITY SHOW ("Top Chef for Kids", formerly "Top Chef Junior")!

I won't play the Psycho Strings yet, though. OTOH, if they start (seemingly) relying more on those kinds of shows (live-action dramas and reality shows, I mean), then, IMHO, there will be a problem. Really, the last thing this network needs is to become Bravo lite (which is unfortunate, since Bravo used to be "The Film and Arts Network"), or even USA Network lite (which is both unfortunate, and ironic, since USA used to have a block called the "Cartoon Express").

I repeat: I'm willing to give this network the benefit of the doubt. It is my hope that they will have many different kinds of shows, and not ultimately rely on one type of show, or even one specific show. To put it another way, I'm hoping that they will learn from the other (nameless) networks' mistakes.

Well, I think you should've searched the dramas that were announced back in April/May.

This is kinda like a YTV (considering that the person running the new network comes from the Corus networks)/Nick Jr./TeenNick mixed with a Disney Channel type sort of channel.

...That's the logo? And they didn't even bother putting Universal in its regular font?

Here's a slightly different sizzle with the logo just typed out:

Also, replying to Mandouga, I should also note that it's their first year as well. They bought DreamWorks Animation for almost a cool $4 billion for a reason. Their theme parks are extremely successful. The Illumination films (i.e. Minions, that's a behemoth and Despicable Me) does pretty well in the B.O. so I think you're reaching here. NBCU's other networks like Oxygen and Syfy for better or worse, didn't shy too much away from its roots and mission. In order for Sprout to keep going, they need a bigger library of content that they actually own (versus Nick Jr. or Disney Junior) and now with DreamWorks it'll change a bit more.

As long as the word "Kids" is on the logo and the DreamWorks Animation acquistion is in place as the Netflix deal will eventually expire after the 12th show they made for them is made and they reach the 300 hours of programming, and the DreamWorks/Illumination films being tied up on FX, Disney Channel, and Netflix, Universal Kids will have to make do with what they have for now. And the fact that's probably one of the reasons why Sprout has a ridiculous 15 hour block and the little amount of older skewered programming NBCU could air on the channel (maybe World of Dance?).

Also, not using the standard logo is...prototype-ish, it sorta fits in contrast with the Sprout logo in terms of color almost.

That's not even worthy of a kids channel's logo, it doesn't look playful or dynamic.

Maybe it's only the prototype logo, no way that could be the actual logo, it's too bland and generic looking.

Maybe they reserved the official logo for September.

Maybe when their new show Kody Kapow premieres on the 15th this month at 10AM, we can see an actual promo.

Oh, they'll show it before September. As I said before, Kody Kapow has been promoted since April/May so the promo could be hyped.

The logo kinda reminds me of Discovery Channel in the 2000's.

Well I was right, they started promoting the new network today, with different music, same graphics and likely the prototype logo still.

Also, they didn't hesitate to add early promos for Top Chef Jr (no actual logo on Universal Kids for that one). Look for these promos after the end of every other break or so.

Well I had to miss the Kody Kapow premiere due to me being at SuperCon today but luckily I DVR'd the premiere so I'll catch it later.

Nowhere Boys aired here on RTP 2 months ago. I haven't heard of Little Lunch yet.

Nah, we have less than two months. I'm pretty sure that just text is clearly a prototype. NBCUniversal can do better than that.

Nah, I believe with the promos being seen, it's probably the final.
