Wow...I really wasn't expecting this, They were dabbling in a more general audience a little when airing movies like Balto and The Iron Giant, but Sprout wasn't doing too bad from what I could recall, so this is something really out of left field and somewhat risky for them.

Though it is nice to see some competition grow for the big three and another potential network for shows to grow and latch onto. And if they're going to include Netflix series, I wouldn't mind seeing Voltron: Legendary Defender or Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh on there and get exposure on TV.

...And if they could Little Witch Academia, even though it isn't a Dreamworks series.

    Berenstain Bears
you mean. The universe is bleeding again it seems.

It seems like Universal Kids will be a mix of The Hub and any of the Family-branded channels from Canada. I might check it out once it arrives.

Here's hoping it doesn't follow The Hub's mistakes.

Eh, just as long as it doesn't effect Voltron and Trollhunters. Though it's going to take DreamWorks longer than expected to reach 300 hours of content for their Netflix contract.

But 6pm seems kind of late to start showing school age program. They should start at 4pm.

The only thing I see bad is the Sprout hosts losing their jobs.

I wouldn't guarantee that, though it'd be inevitable, a la FX (which had studio hosts in its early years, which is how Jeff Probst & Tom Bergeron got started), or MTV, which shed their VJ's long ago.

That 90s version was terrible, though [IMG] Reminded me of Animaniacs.

I hope any new version will be more like the original shorts.

What I'd like to see is Universal Studios producing their own animated TV shows in-house.

Yeah that's not happening, for a lot of reasons.
Biggest being Universal Animation merged with Dreamworks animation last year, so any and all original television projects that are going to be done will be essentially Dreamworks series, hence why so many are coming to the network.

...Still, that does leave the door open for Dreamworks to be more original with their animation and not just reuse concepts from their movies, so I welcome that.

Does this mean all the PBS and preschool shows will be off the Sprout network for good since its turning into another network?

I thought the channel changed but had no idea it wasn't even owned by PBS anymore.
