For those that like the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise and recent Final Fantasy TCG series. You may also want to check out TT's next TCG anime.

Set to air January 8 is Cardfight! Vanguard. Here's a PV of the anime

Looks Japan-only.

I've heard about this series and seen a couple of the trailers, but I don't know much of the details about it. The designs, while still pretty good, also still give off a Yu-Gi-Oh! meets Duel Masters vibe to me, especially with the monsters. Based on that trailer, the players apparently become the monsters in their minds, which instantly reminded me of Chaotic, despite the amount of differences. I could be wrong about that since I haven't read up that much about this series, but that's what it looked like. I thought that the music used for the trailer was really good and matched with the battle. I'll still give this a look if it gets licensed and gets an English dub, but I'm not burning with excitement over it from just the trailer. It looks like it could be a pretty decent and enjoyable show though.

Yeah. Still, it'll be interesting to see how this new card-based anime plays out.

It has been leaked that there's a good chance this show will be streamed on Crunchyroll

I admit that I dismissed it in my mind earlier, but there's been an interesting amount of promotion put into this.

-JAM project singing the OP song
-lots of free structure decks & promos
-TMS for the anime
-Akira Ito (creator of Yugioh! R) for the manga
-episodes streaming (for free) on nicovideo (japan's youtube)
-lots of tv ads (some starring a renowned arcade player in Japan)
-top-of-the-class card artists
-Nakamura (well-known R&D guy behind Duel Masters) on Vanguard's R&D

Well, to go a bit off topic.

Yeah, as you heard. Square Enix plans on making their own version of a Yu-Gi-Oh! type TCG card game as well. Using characters of Final Fantasy instead of monsters. And as for "trap and magic", you'd get these magic spell cards.

The pack of FF TCG cards drops February. Well, for Japan.

Vanguard's OP is on youtube right now, actually. (low quality, anyway)
There's no mistaking it's JAM Project.

Am I the only person who thinks overhyping JAM Project is annoying as all hell? Especially when we already had TWO "DURRR HOT BROODED CAADO GAMEZ" with 5D's's two latter themes.

Unfortunately, you're guess is as good as mine. Been trying to find a synopsis for this.

That guys reaction is... ___.
Seriously that's priceless, but boy.
Japan and their toygenic crap.
I think Card Game Series might not work in the US, outside of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Duel Masters tried in a way but I dunno how a something like this'd work.

It's Bakugan country now boys.

Here's the first episode preview.

While earlier in the thread, I did say this looks Japan-only, if no one's going to pick up Battle Spirits, 4Kids might as well take this. Even though I'd rather they pick Cardboard Senki, or even Mix Master, heheh. It would be a good title to simulcast and bring attention to Toonzaki.

Now that I've brought up Battle Spirits, watch in awe as JAM Project performs the opening for the lastest incarnation. Both got nothing on Transformers EVO.
