    Dexter, in some ways Cartoon Network's original mascot. Glad you came to smarten up my childhood.

    I'll tell you here about one interesting fact. This was the year when Cartoon Network UK (and Europe) began broadcasting 24 hours a day but at this time only on cable. Other viewers would still get TNT instead.

    Are you sure? According to these 2 videos, CN UK/Europe became 24/7 in 1998, not 1996.

    12am? That's a bit late, considering this is UK time and the channel was meant for all Europe, Central Europe would get the show at 1am and Eastern Europe at 2am. Did Space Ghost: Coast to Coast air earlier eventually on an earlier slot? Because if not, now I know why nobody at my country remembers this show, since Bulgaria never got a 24/7 CN (even on cable).

    Dexter's Lab is a fantastic show, and my favorite "Cartoon Cartoon" until the impossible happened years later and Adventure Time took it's place.

    Both shows carry what is in my opinion the best part of CN's spirit: a lot of people who make cartoons are trying to entertain kids, but CN at it's best is people trying to make something they themselves find entertaining.
