I saw the character designs on Cartoon Brew and I am not impressed. To be honest, the designs weren't terrible if they were original characters. It is just the massive overhaul on classic characters is what irks me.

Sherri did not actually work on the "Pinky and the Brain" series. The only way you can stretch it is if you count the "Animaniacs" segments that were repeated under the P&tB banner.

^These are much better than the first ones. At least you can tell which one is which now.

Still has a "hint" of Fish Hooks-esque design. Nice work, Noah Z. Jones!

I had a feeling those original designs would be revised; like with the Loonatics, the original designs were just too different. These new designs are still simpler and more stylized compared to the movie's designs, but they're more distinctive, and like Dr. Pepper pointed out, you have an easier time spotting who's supposed to be who.

Not to mention that the show is going to have a stellar voice cast from the looks of it:

    Bill Farmer as Doc
    Maurice LaMarche as Grumpy
    Kevin Michael Richardson as Happy
    Dee Bradley Baker as Dopey
    Scott Menville as Sneezy
    Stephen Stanton as Sleepy
    Billy West as Bashful
Paul Rugg ("Animaniacs") as Lord Starchbottom
Kelly Osborne and Jess Harnell as Hildy and Grim Gloom

I don't have any qualms with the show increasing its mass appeal. If it aligns the show more towards Gravity Falls/Wander Over Yonder type humor, then so be it.

Tom Ruegger said Dee provides Dopey's "vocalizations".

Well,it's official. The release date is July 7th. Jay Leno and Whoopi Goldberg are added to the cast. A side scroller game will be released a week after. I said it on Disney Wiki and I'll say it again:this is shaping up to be quite a show. The only complaint would be that the picture at the start of the article is perhaps suggesting that 7D is gonna be animated in Flash, but only time will reveal that gem if it turns out to be true...

From Nick and More, it'll debut at 10:00 a.m. on July 7. That time might sound odd, but it is during summer vacation for most of the target audience, so it's really not that bad. If you have iTunes, the premiere episode will be available sooner on Monday, June 23. When I read the press release, I noticed there was a significant number of cast and crew who have worked on the popular 1990s WB animated series Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, and Pinky and the Brain. That definitely makes me hopeful for the quality of this show.

And neither do I - I love it when my kid's shows here in the West aim high - in all regards, even if the animation is despised for being Flash...

Well, we see that it's not animated in Flash.
In fact it looks like it was done at Toon City.

Looks interesting, but nothing really spectacular. But I'll give it a watch.
