According to the thedigitalbits.com:
Ah, good to see Toons From the Crypt on there. Now all that remains are the two specials; I wouldn't be surprised if WB released them both as part of a "double feature".
TVShowsonDVD has the cover art. Pretty much in the same vein as the previous releases. I think that same stock art of Dizzy from the last two is used AGAIN, in fact. Still great to finally see the series completed on DVD, though. (Minus the specials, of course. Hopefully, those will follow soon.)
Very, very glad that the series will be concluded on DVD. Hopefully the two specials will find their way onto DVD this year as well.
The placement of "Toons from the Crypt" means that they copied an online episode list. It was actually the last to air. It was also never aired on Fox.
No infantile-targeted subtitle this time. What was up with that, anyway?
Still, that's the Main 4 (almost, holding out for Night Ghoulery) of the Silver Age completed. Now move along to Histeria already, I've never seen it.
Yup, there's Dizzy again, in the distance, same post. Is this some kind of inside joke? They have to be doing it on purpose now.
Yeah, I too notice that stock artwork of Dizzy. Though if we're nitpicking artwork, I'm still wondering what's with Hamton's scowling on volume 1's back of the box...
Re: "Main 4": Hmm.... TTA, A!, PatB... uh, Batman:TAS?
Also glad to see the bulk of the Silver Age shows out on DVD. Though not sure we'll see Histeria put on DVD (being an "E/I" show probably makes it less likely). Wonder if we'll see "Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries" finish its run, or an actual full release of Taz-Mania...
I think the Main 4 refers to TTA, A!, PatB and F!
I'm thinking that DVD releases of Taz-Mania, Duck Dodgers, and possibly the Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries will continue, at least for the time being. It would only take 2 more sets for Duck Dodgers, about 3 more sets for Sylvester & Tweety (depending on how they divide up the episodes), and 4 more sets for Taz-Mania until the series are completed.
As much as I would like to see full retail sets for Histera and Road Rovers, they'll more end up as MOD releases from the Warner Archive Collection. Road Rovers would only take up a single 13-episode set, whereas Histeria might be released in two 26-episode sets.
I know most WBA fans don't have fond (if any) memories of Waynehead, but I did enjoy it as a kid, so I wouldn't be opposed to a release, maybe from the WAC.
I think Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain will eventually get a release in some format, maybe even digitally, since that's how they're releasing the Scrappy-era episodes of Scooby-Doo.\
Now if only we could get season sets of Static Shock and the rest of the Zeta Project.
Revised cover art is out, with a new subtitle: "Looney Links."
These subtitles are really stupid. Only one short on the fourth set features golf as a theme (much like how vol. 3 was titled "Crazy Crew Rescues" and yet only one short featured firefighting). It'd be like naming the first volume "Tennis Titans" or the second volume "Bicycle Bungles". And the crazy thing is, the volume # still appears on the spine.
Oh well, I can't be too upset since what really counts are that these episodes are finally being released; it's more a nitpick than anything.
I still think these subtitles are sort of a Trojan Horse. Warner uses them to trick Wal-Mart and other retailers into thinking that they're cheap themed compilations aimed at casual audiences and kids so the stores will stock 'em.
And in the end, that's admittedly the most important thing.
"Never say links in the presence of a pig"
Hahaha, I totally read that in Hamton's voice, too!
The cover art looks okay to me but "Looney Links" just why?
Oh yes, Tiny Toons Vol. 4 should be out today
"Looney Links." Don't forget to pick up your copy and complete Tiny Toons' run on DVD. (Except for the two specials; who knows where they'll turn up.)
Once again, I didn't bother checking Best Buy or Target and just ordered mine online. I'll report back later this week when it arrives.
Ditto. My copy should arrive by the 9th.
