Egh, Play with Birds... thats a horrible title. Thats like naming a First Person Shooter Shoot Bad People.

I guess WiiWare's new goal is to reduce Disc-Based Shovelware? Instead opting for a lot of Downloadable Shovelware? At least with disc-based you can get your money back if you get something you don't like.

Oh well, as long as there are some good games its not too bad.

I'm way too old for that to sound like fun.

I was just checking wikipedia on the title of MDK2. Apparently the original MDK game came out in 1997 (developed by Shiny Entertainment, with Playmates Interactive handling the North American release, and Interplay handling the rest of the world) for DOS/Windows, then in 1998 for the Mac, then the game was released in November of 1998 for North America on the PS1, followed by a December 1998 PS1 release in Europe, and Japan didn't get it till August 1999. MDK was also rather historic for the PC release, since it required a Pentium processor to work.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDK_(video_game))

MDK2 was originally released on the Dreamcast and PC in 2000, with a revised version being released for the PS2 in 2001. And now this Wii version (along with a version that is being released for the PC in HD) is a remake of the 2000/2001 games.

The thing I don't understand is, considering that the first game is no longer available, and I doubt a lot of people remember it, why didn't Interplay just reboot the series, or remake the first game and then remake and release the 2nd game? I realize that they want to make sequels to some of their lines, but considering that it's been over 10 years since the PS2 game came out, and 12-13 years since the last version of the original came out, I would think that people would want to get more properly introduced to the characters than just finding themselves in the middle of a story.

I got MDK2 on PS2 for two dollars some months ago. I was enjoying it until I got stuck in the first Hawkins level... Bioware, exactly how does mix-and-match with kitchen appliances make for fun gameplay?

Still though, good to see a cult classic make it to WiiWare.

For 5 bucks, sounds interesting. I'll check to see if I can get it on my Droid for cheaper first though.
