Don't know if any of you care, but Rogue One is past the 900 million mark

Fourth biggest March opening actually under the first live action Disney's Alice in Wonderland from 2010, the first Hunger Games movie in 2012 and of course last year's Batman v superman which opened with 166 million in March. I'm sure Logan will at least be able to make back over double it's opener throughout it's run in theaters which BvS wasn't able to do though and yeah it is still fairly impressive especially as it is over the first Wolverine debut by a few hundred thousand from 2009 and that sunk Wolvie's brand so much The Wolverine only opened with like 52 million in 2013 while this is a much bigger spike up. Not as great as Deadpool's but still pretty good since well... Wade seems to honestly be much more popular now nowadays especially in film so I think this is a good way for Jackman to end his run as it's clear someone else has clearly outshone him in this franchise.

I meant biggest March opening for an R rated film, not overall March openings.

I doubt it can crack a billion. March alone is stacked. Kong and Beast are big comp.

And due to the fact that none of the X-Men films have a billion dollar gross.

A billion is sadly probably out of reach just because of the heavy competition. March has one big film literally every week - this week King Kong opens, next week is Beauty and the Beast, the week after is Power Rangers, and after that is (potentially a big hit) Ghost in the Shell.

EDIT 3/19: So. Beauty and the Beast made some mad money, breaking two records in the process.

Well, Lucy will be a tough act to follow for Luc Besson in terms for box office performance since that film was one of the highest grossing films of 2014 worldwide, though not in the top ten.

    I wonder why.

About Leap, it came out in France (under the title Ballerina and it is a French animated film) earlier before being released in several parts of Europe last December and was released in the US later as in this month.
