Ughhhh....Their #1 choice is the main reason for why I hate these types of lists. I honestly hate Kratos as a character, yet Screw Attack doesn't care whether a character is even likable or not for lists like these, but just care to see how much of a bad-ass they are portrayed as. I guess I shouldn't complain, though. In the end its their list, but seriously I find "manliest men" to be a pretty dumb and pointless topic for a video game character list, without any specificly clear criteria, whatsoever (I mean, they even put up a female character on the list, which pretty much kills the whole point of it, even if it was just to make a dumb joke).

Bill & Lance should be #1, IMO. When I think "Manly Men In Gaming" they are the first dudes I think of.

Kratos, while a fascinating character, is kinda overrated really. Can't deny how manly his acts are, but unlike a lot of the manly men doing it, he seems to be mostly doing it out of extreme uncontrolled rage, while a manly man does it because he can.

Personally, while not really a video game character, Ben Croshaw should be #1.

That list was missing Doomguy. Think about it, that dude went to hell and back armed with nothing but a pistol (he had to find other weapons along the way) and he slayed thousands of demons and he did it all by himself. He's a total manly badass.

Also, needs more Agent York. Don't you agree, Zach? That guy is so manly he'll eat a potato raw and follow it up with an onion.

There's a reason why I said Samus should've been on there. The Galactic Federation has all these tough guys, yet they're too scared to deal with problems like Ridley and the Space Pirates on their own, so instead they commission Samus. As for Link, one particular scene in Twilight Princess comes to mind. Telma and Ilia try to save Ralis by heading for Kakariko and seeking Ronaldo's help. The one guard advises it's too dangerous, but the guards agree to escort them anyway. Once Telma mentions monsters along the way, the guards chicken out, leaving her upset and noticing Link, who knows will help them.

VGV Reviews Rayman. Y'know, Stutterin' Craig springboards a good topic: Why ARE games which look bright and colorful always pigeonholed as easy games? Time and again, we've seen that isn't always the case. And we've also seen games which are dark and gritty can be easy. Never judge a book by its cover.

Craig was pretty much spot on here, Nintendo basically "won" E3 this year. And yeah, the Sony presentation was a little long. (And seriously, how does that Bobb'e Says kid keep getting work?!)

Craig was pretty hard on G4, but I have to say it wasn't undeserved. The channel's a messy mishmash now, but the reason for the format change was simply because G4 and the late TechTV's gaming/tech-centric shows weren't bringing in the ratings. It's only a shame that most gamers are too busy playing video games to watch a lot of TV, 'cause the G4TechTV "merger" would've been awesome had it been real and not just a thinly disguised hostile takeover of TechTV by Comcast in order to obtain X-Play.

The only thing I didn't 100% agree with Craig on was his views on Mortal Kombat. Yes, the new MK title being previewed looked crazy good, but I didn't like that "movie" trailer at all; I've elaborated on this elsewhere, so I won't parrot myself, but the abridged version is that while that trailer might have worked as a hardcore crime story in its' own right, it didn't remind me of Mortal Kombat in any way, and I thought that Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe had the potential to be a great game, but it was hampered by DC's insistence that the violence be massively toned down because they didn't want DC's premier heroes to get decapitated, dismembered, etc. Never mind the bucthering a lot of these properties are receiving in the current comics...

It seems like no one saw the Konami press conference. Now that was something strange to watch. It was simultaneously depressing for anyone who had been a Konami fan for any period of time and hilarious for how extraordinarily awkward it was. It was like Sony '06 all over again.

I agree with a good portion of the list, and am especially glad so many classic series are getting a new chance to shine when just one gen ago they were seemingly dead forever.

In celebration of the new Mortal Kombat, they ranked the fatalities. RULES: 1-per-character, no stage fatalities, and no other -ality (Babality, Animality, Brutality, Friendship).

Surprisingly, a lot of the fatalities came from the 3D games (MK4 on).

No arguing no.1 as that's the one me and my brother and obviously a lot of people think of when they think of MK. I think the only one I would have changed off the top of my head was Scorpion's. I just really like the skull breathing fire as that was also the big reveal for the character as well. Still spear through the face is cool too. And Johnny Cage has to be the funniest one.

That was a pretty cool list and definitely making me look forward to the new upcoming MK game. I haven't been interested in the series since Shaolin Monks (and before that, the awesome 2), but this list reminded me of how crazy the series could get.

I'm glad they remembered Liu Kang's Dragon Chomp from MK2; that was always one of my favorite MK Fatalities; it's slightly surprising that Liu Kang was always such a central character to the games (particularly the early ones), but he's always had some of the weakest Fatalities.

Another Fatality I always liked was a bonus Fatality that Shang Tsung had in MK2: Tsung would morph into Kintaro and then uppercut his opponents' entire upper half off. That was awesome. :D

Craig makes a good point about how people who looked at this game probably never heard of Felix The Cat. (Except for hard core fans, and historians of classic animation.)

I know who Felix the Cat is (the Felix shorts with Rock Bottom and the Professor used to air on my local TV stations as a kid, plus I'm just an animation buff), I just never knew that he ever had a video game.

I had forgotten about Reptile's Animality where he changes into a chimp(!), but I'm surprised that they didn't mentions Scorpion's lame Animality in Ultimate MK3. An obvious choice for a Scorpion Animality would be to have him change into a scorpion, but Midway had already given the scorpion Animality to Sheeva in MK3, which Scorpion wasn't in. So when they brought him back in UMK3, he was reduced to morphing into a penguin that laid an exploding egg onto his opponent.

Not only is that far too silly an Animality for someone like Scorpion, but it made no sense biologically either; why would a male penguin lay an egg as a finishing move?

Eh, Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1 was meant to be a Shaolin Monk, and monks don't kill. They obviously changed that for the sequel, but that's why Liu Kang's fatality doesn't actually kill anyone (unless you're playing in the Pit)... I'm not saying it's great, but every single thing listed in there and MANY that were not (like most of the ones in UMK3) are far worse fatalities. At least his "fatality" is easy to do.

#1 is precisely the reason a Street Fighter Vs. MK is unlikely to ever happen.
