    Saw It On Friday...

...And Aardman has delivered yet another quality animated film. Every joke hit, it had a story and characters that kept me engaged, the voice acting was top-notch, and the animation was impressive as always. Hopefully it manages to be somewhat successful financially.

I saw it about a month back (it premiered earlier here in the UK) and it didn't disappoint. Classic Aardman humour and very pleasing visually. I love how rich the characters and settings are. You could really tell how much time and care went into animating this movie.

One question, though - why is it called Pirate: Band of Misfits in the US? What's wrong with "Pirates: In an Adventure with Scientists?"

Because Americans are dumb and might be confused by the mere mention of science.

I wish I was joking.

My thoughts on the movie which as always are rather long and rambling so as usual, spoiler tags.

No, it's not because people in the US are dumb; It was probably because Sony thought the title wouldn't have grabbed people's attention. Plus, there really isn't that much involving science that takes place in the film if you look at it.
