I have a little faith in Dwane Capuzzi. He has been given a lot of crappy asignments. It doesn't mean he is a bad writer.

I have a feeling that, unlike these upcoming movies, Brainiac Attacks wasn't made with comic fans in mind.

    --------------

Hopefully besides DVD releases these will find their way to television, perhaps on Toonami (considering the Marvel and Hellboy movies are airing there).

Oy... I don't see why it can't be fit into DCAU continuity. ~_~

This stuff sells JUST by being in continuity with the timmverse.

Maybe even Mr. Timm himself could use a break from his own designs. I like the idea that he's onboard as a safety net so we don't get another Brainiac Attacks, but I'm open to seeing new art styles.

I just wish they'd picked another project though. This and the proposed Teen Titans DTV are already semi hashed out in animation form. It can't be that much trouble to choose something new.

I'm surprised that of all the stories they chose to do, two are ones we've kinda seen in animation already. Is the Teen Titans DTV in its own continuity?

TV.com is one of the most unreliable sources on the internet.

I would imagine it's unlikely. A project like this sounds like a stand alone to me. I'm getting the impression that these new projects are using veteran minds to create new shows, rather than try and lurk in the past - unless with, say the Death of Superman, the intent is to update the old DCAU to a more radically comic orienated style of adventure. Again, I'd be surprised - pleasantly surprised though.

That's my impression. I'd be happily proved wrong.

i'm glad Bruce Timm is overseeing this project as well as the others.
Whether the art style changes or not will definitely depend on what
works in animation. Can't wait to see the teasers to these!!!

Not necessarily. It's often easier to sell a new exciting product than hope that it will fall on the support of veteran fans. A new product you hype with no expectations. You can bet it will be bought by the fans of the old shows if it's running a similar demograph.

A new show would interest a wide market and be far easier to promote. Promoting something totally new is always more eye catching that promoting an addition to something older.

Paul Levitz said DC is looking to do a series of titles that will tell the character
bits and stories that were important to fans, and will be working with the
comic book creators on them. Cooke will be providing key art direction on
the adaptation of New Frontier so i'm thinking it'll be very close to
the original or better. i'm sure the other projects will follow in a similar outline
with Bruce Timm overseeing the whole thing. Remember Legends of the
    Dark Knight
(BTNA) and how faithful Timm was with the 50's Batman and
The Dark Knight Returns? i expect the same effort with these other projects.

he dies fightning Doomsday, and then theirs this complicated plot envolving the birthing matrix, the eradicator, a clone of superman, a few people claiming to be superman, and etc. Im not sure it would make sense to alot of people, but im puzzled as to why their rehasing the "death of superman plot".

I'd guess because it's not aimed directly at DCAU fans, but comic fans in general, hoping also to catch the new wave of Superman fans ensnared by the film. Unfortunately for sales, it's not all about DCAU fans! :)
